THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
I just saw this RAW. Wow what a episode! This one must be my second favorite other than the famous #3 teacher battle. Since a lot is still blurry because of the RAW I will just be short on meaning:

-Old man's story is pretty SAD! Just cause he was considered by the village as weird with paranormal powers they refused to cure his daughter. As a result she dies. THAT SUCKS BY TIME! You never let a kid die even though villagers may think she is the curse. These villagers are not different than the ones who killed Enma Ai from Jigoku Shoujo.

-Reika has the GOLDEN EYE. Eye of Ra or one of the God of Life. With its light it is one to fear, especially from those known as Tibetans. This is also known as the THIRD EYE and you should all watch 3X3 eyes to know more.

-The old man has the eye of destruction known to come from those who betrayed God of Mars. This may also be known as the evil eye that kills but in his case it enslaves you.

-Good fight up from Rin

-Rui looks again like another good detective.

Next episode is getting better with some sort of evil spirit attacking the human flesh.....LOOKS NASTY is all I got to say.

It was ok, I'm still not getting a sense of focus or direction from the show, except, "here's some stories you've heard before, we'll just add telepathy"

Although I like this series, this episode just reinforced my disappointment with the way their powers are handled. Whatever happened to the kewl telekinetic stuff from episode 1? Those two need to find more practical ways of using their powers. Ran could probably have taken out all those goons by herself, but all she managed was messaging Midori. Ah well; looks like that might change next ep, with the return of the red glow.

I wonder how the hell they did that psychic shield cause even with their powers combine this level is beyond theirs. Hell...X-men would have a hard time, at the very least a huge energy drain. The red glow is more like they change their powers to offensive. The blue seems to be communication and comprehension.

Rui was there with them. He can increase their powers or decrease them depending on how he feels at the moment. They mentioned this in one of the first eps.

That may be but I wish they would just somehow show it. Supposing this or until someone reminds me is getting annoying. If he did amplify then show it that he did somehow. They seem to be keeping this amplifying thing hush still.

Hmmm direction was unusually far better than in the last few episodes, and the overall plot of this arc is probably the best of the series for now. Good development too, and very good episode this time ! I wish the whole series was this interesting.

In every age, in every place, the deeds of men remain the same.

To me it feels more like they can do whatever they want with their powers, since no one has said anything about any limitations there are none. Just an undefined power that lets Ran and Midori do whatever they want. As proof Midori teleported, they just made that shield without even showing any fatigue for it, in the beginning they shot energy-beams, they can use telepathy without consideration to the distance, etc.

As long as it's supernatural they can do it, without using much or any energy at all.

The only only thing limiting them is themselves. They could fly if they wanted, Midori levitated hundreds of small items in the beginning, wouldn't she be able to levitate herself or Ran? She teleported to that swing in the park when she was in Nagoya or whatever it was, but normally none of them use that power. They can read toughs from a distance, but mostly they just don't use that either. They could easily have knocked out his bodyguards, but they didn't. Ran even controlled the weather in episode 1, but they don't use that power in any helpful way either.
The only thing they do except talking trough telepathy is touch people to watch their memories, but even that they fail at using fully.

It's not like they have ever failed at anything they have tried, wouldn't a person normally become curious at how much power they actually possess? They could be godlike, so far they have used powers that would leave other characters with supernatural powers exhausted without even getting short of breath.

Well, enough of that, those who get awesome powers in anime are always either evil people or those who don't use their powers.

Anyway, I really hate episodes like this. They always wrap it up so nicely, and the "evil" guy regrets what he has done and accepts his punishment. But that doesn't change the fact that it was all the villagers fault for hating on some innocent clan just because they possessed powers they didn't understand. It's like saying that having any sort of power, supernatural or otherwise, makes you evil (unless you are a main character of course).

Just a few episodes ago they made an anti-bully episode, where Ran helped the bullied person, but this time, just because the one getting bullied had powers to defend himself they made him the evil guy. Is it wrong to don't like when people throw stones on you? Is it wrong to get angry when the hospital let's your daughter die just because she is stronger than the doctor? Is it wrong to dislike the people who killed your family? That old man had been just been driven mad because everyone around him had treated him like trash his whole life, the ones at fault are the villagers, but well, I didn't expect that this program would go that far into the rottenness of the world, lets leave that to the more psychotic shows.

Those fake happy endings are really stupid, they portray it as if everything is good and they did the right thing, and everything is in order again. The problem is that that's only the case if you have forgotten what happened in the middle of the story. I suspect that that's what the landslide was for, a dramatic event to make us get on other thought's, and thus not think of all the loose ends.

Well, whatever I say, I still love this show, watching Midori is like watching a Tohsaka who know's nothing of that creep Shirou.
It's like a version of Fate/Stay Night where people don't die when they are killed! LOL

(I think I wrote a little too much. XD)
