Arc Rise Fantasia is an upcoming RPG for the Wii created by ImageEpoch (Luminous Arc, World Destruction) and is being published in Japan by Marvelous.
http://www.siliconera.com/2008/10/09/arc-rise-fantasia-rising-to-north-american-release/
XSEED, with the help of Marvelous, is releasing the game overseas in 2009.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arc_Rise_Fantasia
Plot and info in the Wiki link.

Gameplay:
The game is a turn-based RPG. There will be three-character parties, with a single AP gauge being shared by the team, which empties as various actions are performed. Summons (Roguresu) may play a huge role.
Explains the battle system.

Staff:
Producer (Marvelous Entertainment Inc.): Hideyuki Mizutani
Development Producer (imageepoch): Ryoei Mikage
Director (imageepoch): Hiroyuki Kanemaru (Various Tales games including Tales of Symphonia)
Scenario: Takumi Miyajima (Tales of the Abyss)
Composition/Music Director: Yasunori Mitsuda (Luminous Arc series and Xenosaga Episode I: Der Wille zur Macht)
Main Character Original Design: Kenichi Yoshida (Eureka Seven)
Roguresu Design: Shin Nagasawa (Bahamut Lagoon)

An interesting note that many members worked on the Tales games, and Eureka Seven's character designer is involved. Like World Destruction, expect many other talented staff members.

Magazine Scans *huge pictures click spoiler if you can handle the awesomeness* (GoNintendo entry http://gonintendo.com/?p=47612 )

info regarding the game:
- The visuals you see in the magazine are only 70% complete and not final.
- Currently all cutscenes have no facial motion and are rather lifeless.
- The team is working very hard to improve the visuals and the lifeliness of the event scenes.
- Next month they'll be announcing the voice cast for the game.

For Wii owners who wanted RPGs like the other systems, look forward to this. More info will be revealed overtime. Click on the links in the Wiki page, and the website for the game (in Japanese) is now open.

They don't HAVE to use the motion controls... :P

I said it in the Wii club, I'll say it here. More Wii RPGs is a good thing. This title makes me excited.

ooooo another great find by Kuronoa. thanks for the link and pics.

i guess i can stop asking what would it look like if the character designer team for Eureka Seven and Tales of Symphonia had crazy sex.

yup you can totally see the art of Eureka Sevens character design with the game. its the Wii so i wasn't expecting to much but the graphics look alright. really want to see a trailer for this and how the battle system works. didn't really like the art in Eureka Seven so thats a bit distracting. hopefully the story will surpass those feelings.

the giant thing (dragons?) on the top of the image piques my interest.

World Destruction's staff doesn't do much for me, but I'm pretty impressed with this. Looks like both games will have top notch music, at least, and the character designs for this really do look very... Eureka Seven-ish. Not that I mind too much, though Adele's face looks a little off.

Visually, I suppose the game isn't amazing by today's standards, but it still looks nice and the style seems to suit the game well enough.

I'm interested and the Wii needs more good games, so I hope it doesn't disappoint.

The quality of the scans aside, I think this is among the best graphics for 3rd party. The hand-drawn character art bugs me (except for the purple haired girl), but the character models in-game look great otherwise.

Looks decent, though turn-base doesn't sound very appealing. Graphics look kinda mediocre from the in-game screens, but the cg movies and in-game graphics cinematics don't look too bad. I might pick this up if it's good when it goes down in price, but I want to hear more about the game first and see it in action.

At first I was like "why isn't anyone impressed with the graphics!" Then I came across this and I was like "I guess this is why, the graphics aren't done yet". Perhaps we need actual screenshots and a trailer.

EDIT: Siliconera article! Explains the battle system.

Speaking of actual screenshots:

http://www.famitsu.com/game/coming/1216164_1407.html

It seems to lack some polish, but the graphics are 70% done so it should look better later on. Otherwise it has a good art direction, it doesn't look bland.

Now this is a jRPG I can get excited about. For one the Character designs aren't mind numbingly stale(or rather ridiculous), the mech design looks gorgeous and the world looks really vivid.Combat looks interesting too.So yes I can safely say that I am excited.

I wasn't really feeling their other projects(world destruction, Luminous Arc) but they have my attention now :)

I wasn't really interested in Luminous Arc. World Destruction, however, I really hope comes to the US or at least UK.

Feder, feder, feder, we always disagree :-p

I think the in-game screens are awesome. However, the cg movies have a weird look to them. That's not to say that they are terrible but they're not my favorite.

I will agree with you about waiting for more info though. The game could be terrible haha.

That is VERY reassuring. Glad to hear it. ^_^

@iwubanime: I agree with you there on the cut scenes (see, we sometimes agree on things XD). The purple haired girl (name?) looks kinda weird in the cut scenes. Despite that, the cut scene that shows the dragons flying looks pretty decent.

I'm just happy to see another RPG on the Wii though. Here's hoping that someday the Wii beats the 360 in the RPG department...

The Wii is getting rpgs, just hardly any are getting noticed at all and some just announced. Besides, Nintendo is usually shallow in RPGs since the N64 days (console-wise). I'm used to it.

Anyone who had only a Game Cube would be used to that. (Me) Although cube got some good RPGs even though it didn't get very many.

That would be the PS3. Nintendo hasn't been known for RPGs since the SNES.

I don't mind it. I've always preferred turn-base anyways. The sharing of the AP gauge does add a little a bit of strategy I guess. I'm only at the beginning though so I got to see how it works with a full party.
