Stupid recap masked as a regular episode.
Funny how people found it "deep", lol.

I hate how everytime someone comes up trying to put philosophy in today's culture the ignorant come and say "it's mind fuck, what kind of weed you smoke" seriously this series I'm pretty sure is going to get more philosophical so drop it by now if you disliked this episode. Otherwise you'll give a lame review with something like "too unnecesary complicated blabla"
EXACTLY!! ergo proxy is definitely not an anime for closed-minded people

it was a somewhat redundant, but surely clarifying episode. i think some of the next ones are gonna be metaphoric like this

great episode. the philosophical dump of information was interesting because of the questions it proposed, even if it seemed to present a sort of superficial treatment of the theories used (such is the nature of a 20 min anime episode that can't afford to answer everything and sustain viewer interest.)

this episode also gave vince some depth, which is nice considering he had none of that before this.

I liked the idea of the creepy bookstore and I like how we finally got some explaining because this has been a very confusing journey. I watch one episode and I'm like "I finally get it now" and then I watch the next one and I'm like "I really don't..."

Wow, impressive episode. At first glance, nothing much happened other than Vincent accepting the fact that he's a Proxy, but the philosophical dimension was quite amazing, really thought provoking. I loved it, as well as the whole atmosphere. This anime is taking such an interesting path, I hope it knows what it is doing and won't collapse onto itself. Also, Vincent, Pino and Re-L are back together ! That's great, I'm looking forward to more of theeir interactions.

One thing got me wondering though : the bookstore owner mentionned Rousseau, so that means some aspects of the world we do know exists in this show. I wonder how close Ergo Proxy's world is to our own.

While this can be considered a recap, I'd say this is a recap done right.

I tend to outright skip recaps as it just feels like it's holding your hand through shows but this kept me immersed with me only realizing it was basically a recap after the fact.

Another philosophical episode!

This is pretty much developing inside of Vincen'ts mind.

Seeing Pino and Re-L with an Proxy head is kinda weird as hell XD

This is exploring what happening on Vincent's mind. He's surely slowly remembering who he was and that person maybe he's "Alter" Ego so to speak, that's sleeping within Vincent.

More than likely, he'll be awake later on the episodes.

oh lot of meandering and nothing new learned until the end. kind of interesting a little at the beginning but loses its way all just to knock some sense into the guy.

Definitely the most "experimental" episode yet with Vincent struggling in his inner self (of course with the library allegory xD) speaking with his other side of his own self which is Ergo Proxy, sure that after what he lived and how he got his memory erased it's hard for himself to admit that he is indeed Ergo Proxy... that end though, he finally got reunited with Re-L?

Vince finally accepts that he is Ergo Proxy. The bookstore mindfuckery was very cool

probably the best episode so far

@ lmao at people complaining that this is too "boring" "random" or "unnecessary", This was delving into the character's mind (like a psychoanalysis?) which is what makes him complex. If you don't want that then clearly this is not the show for you and should just drop it because it's not going to stop anytime soon.

This is probably the part where everyone starts to go: "huh?"

Can't tell if it's all super deep and profound, or if they just threw random bs into the script to pad the running time, saying in different ways how Vincent is indeed ERGO PROXY

One thing I know for sure though, is that Re-l is mommy

This episode would've felt more cohesive without the contrived mysterious bookstore cliche. There's more natural ways to explore the mind of your characters than to have some inexplicable prop building in the middle of nowhere to justify it.
