This feature (Listing the openings and closings with the artists and name of the song)is on some of the other anime encyclopedia sites. While I don't think I will die if it isn't implemented, and will probably be a pain to the database moderators to update all the anime, it would be a nice feature to have...

Don't think its worth it. You need to do updates on entries made, and for the database this would clog good as well,, not to mention having series that have many op and ed,, for example blood+ that has like 4 op and 4 ed.. So no not worth it. Better to find info elsewhere if you really want the songs.

Voted for yes. Cause I hate having to run to ANN to get the info (although the ANN links are on MAL). Sure it's a lot of work for the database mods to update everything for the 100th time but... lol, they should be used to it. XD It can be a work in progress anyway. Kind of like how most of the anime pages still lack links (although its slowly getting there).

Examples of how this could be implemented and where?

Music in profiles or any other place would start to make this place like myspace

Lol, this is not about implementing music. This is about showing the ED and OP Track Titles and Artists like on ANN.

I support this. The OP/ED themes are important info, imho. For the example, I think the ANN implementation is a good one.

I think the most logical place would be under statistics, but it would probably be better to put it just under related anime (just because it would likely look better there instead of having the left side pushed down so much........and/or the title of the song/artist might be too long for the left side).

Anyway, yeah I like the idea of adding opening and ending themes on the anime info page. Since MAL will have/has an anime and manga database, why not add stuff like this as well. Though I think having Seiyuu info is a little over the top, op/ed info is something I would like to see on MAL. ^^

eh, if we don't have seiyuu information, MAL won't be completely replacing ANN for anime information anyway. Either way is fine with me, I guess it would be easier to have that information on MAL and I guess it is another step towards providing an alternative for ANN...

my suggestion to make the database moderators job easier, when you next time add new information fields to database, add all you are going to add in one go.

most tiresome as a database mod would be to go through all the titles, add a seiyuus or whatever into it. and after a week or few directors, then op/ed titles and so on...

when you go and add information into one serie, much more efficient would be to add all possible information when you are working on a certain title without the need to go back to it from time to time.
Truly yours, Arinohyoshi

Offering music would be a violation of something, but displaying the OP and ED titles would be neat. (and artists too of course)

I'm in favor of this one, though I don't think it'd be all that big a deal if it wasn't implemented either.

Well it could be posted with the score graph that's sometime going to be implemented, if that won't do, under info as stats is more for numberish things

I vote yes. Would be very neat to have that kind of information at MAL too.

Just an idea/example of what it could be like, format wise:
('Songs' would be centered in the cell)
Songs:
OP #1 : Nightmare - The World
OP #2 : Maximum the Hormone - What's Up People?!

ED #1 : Nightmare - Aluminia
ED #2 : Maximum the Hormone - Zetsubou Billy

EDIT: If size is a problem horizontally,
('Songs' would be centered in the cell)
Songs:
Openings:(centered in cell)
1: Nightmare - The World
2: Maximum the Hormone - What's Up People?!

Endings:(centered in cell)
1: Nightmare - Aluminia
2: Maximum the Hormone - Zetsubou Billy

Well, should there be multiple artists and bands and such? Or should it just be labeled as "Song Title - Aritist". The latter is much easier, but less informative.

Edit: I took a look at ANN, they just have it listed as "Song title - Arist" with no linking and collaboration between the same artists. It would be cool to do my idea, but rather complicated to implement and would take a lot longer for people to update. I'll probably just go with no links and just textual information.

The linking would be crazy awesome, but I'm personally just happy to have the info there to use. So does this mean that it's 'approved' and can be put on the to-do-list?

Yeah, would be awesome if it was linked but then we'd have to make sure that we use the same 'scheme' otherwise we end up with the same troubles that last.fm has sometimes: for instance 3 different 'profiles' for Hirano Aya, Aya Hirano and 平野 綾. So textual information would be sufficient.

I think it would be nice to implement it by having another tab at the top, along with Characters, Member Stats, etc. for Theme Songs. Then, have all OP and ED themes listed under that tab with their artists and maybe what episodes than ran for as well.

Mind, this method, because of the extra tab, would take a little more doing... how much, I'm not sure, since I don't know much about php. :/

As for seiyuu, wouldn't it just be simpler to include that with Character profiles? I know with most tv/movie sites they like to have a "Cast" page for them, but it doesn't seem to me that it'd be that big of a deal with anime. I personally don't care which seiyuu plays what character, and I'm sure there are others like me that way, so it's not something for which you need a whole separate section on each anime profile, right?

Just my two yen. :)
