Sucks to hear - I'll miss them, although I will probably not notice it. And to the few who says good riddance and want fansubs to shut down, I really feel the need to say that most people outside Japan wouldn't see anime at all if it weren't for fansubs. I can count myself in that group, but I'm not here to argue (and I'm not saying people shouldn't support the industry, because they should). I think it's sad for everyone that they shut down since their quality was excellent. I would easily prefer to watch them rather than official subs.

I do remember their excellent work with brotherhood - I hope that their talent will not be forgotten and that they'll come back.

Personally I thought they had the best subs for Amagami SS. It's a shame they are shutting down. Will miss them :P

I like UTW better...but that's just me.

Anyway, my hats off to Eclipse. They have contributed immensely to our community. Good luck to them.

IIRC. they did a collaboration on Clannad with Static Subs or something, which was a pretty well done sub back then. And even their Code Geass wasn't that much off the track as the haters had exaggerated. Haters be hating. gg is a troll sub anyway, and it's obviously bullshit to call gg a 'perfect sub' to begin with, let alone Eclipse.

Gonna miss these guys. Nice job, everyone.

Might be old, but I just want to take up this comment.

Yeah. Support a lazy fansub group that doesn't actually sub, but rather rip it from Crunchyroll. It's not even a fansub group, just a bunch of 'lazy pirates' as Dattebayo puts it.

...I hate anime fans so much that putting them in concentration camps doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Yeah I noticed that today too when I tried to access their xdcc list. They said they'll keep the site, tracker and irc channels up so its probably just a temporary downtime.

It's a simple case of Robin Hood: Horrible takes from Crunchy who makes people pay for anime, and gives the anime to the poor and needy.

Such an angry little fellow though, you should really go talk to someone about that.

Except it is free anyway if you wait a week. So that point is moot.

And to make sure, don't bring hunger into the arguement. If someone can't survive without their latest ep to a point where they have mood swings, then there's something wrong with them anyway.

^Not that I really care about HorribleSubs, but I believe there's also the issue of region locking with CR. And I don't think there's anything wrong with ripping subtitle from official source, take THORA or OZC for example. Heck, THORA sometimes even take subtitles from another subgroup.

Not for downloading, some people don't stream.
It's a lot better than someone who wants to put people in a concentration camp for liking a group m.m

I will miss their work for Code Geass and Clannad. Here I was hoping they would sub the Code Geass side story Akito when Sunrise airs it. Oh well there will always other fansub groups.

They're not back, they just want to finish Kimi ni Todoke. They also said if they felt like subbing anything they might get back together to sub.

Hmm, gonna download these to see how they compare to gg
They're both very good fansubbers.
When I broke off from The Big 3 and began to download form places other than Dattebayo, I found Eclipse, learnt how to use mIRC and downloaded a fuck-tonne of series.
So this is one of the first sub groups I've downloaded from I guess.
