Honestly, I don't remember much of this series since it's been so long. However, I do remember that strip game to get into the base that one time.

Kouichi is so lucky in this episode. Getting to see Mamiko Noto in a bikini, in a towel, getting a free touch on her breast and most of all, getting pushed by her! Somebody kill the guy.

episode 26...i was really disapointed in it soley because kouichi and emi didnt resolve their "love" and the cut the ending with what was hoping to be an epic battle.
Are you raising questions for a season two..or did they just give us a crappy ending?

The chances are rather slim. Gonzo was citing a deficit of 30million dollars when they were absorbed by their parent company GDH. GDH then took on the name Gonzo but the last show they produced was "Shangri-La" which ended in Sept. 2009. One of their best sellers in recent years was Strike Witches but the 2nd season is being produced by AIC Spirits. I think for all intents and purposes the studio is dead or at least on a long hiatus. Which is sad because it means unless someone else steps up we will never get a 2nd season of Saki or Kurogane no Linebarrels.

However, being privy to this information did make the end of the 2nd episode of the OVA pretty funny.

It's a shame. But that's what happens with a studio's bankruptcy.

Who's going to pay for all those destroyed buildings, cars and everything else in that place? I keep asking myself that.

I dislike when anime throw "fan service" episodes at the end of the series, even though I will attest to the fact that if you are a fan, it does it's job. But this one was such a let-down!

Like everyone else, I wanted to see some closure for the characters (since the epic plot was already concluded) but this just made it more muddled. I wanted Kouichi and Emi to finally confess their love; I wanted to see Risako let go of Kouichi and finally give poor Yajima a chance; and I wanted Doumyouji to at least ask out Shizuna. But all it did was repeat everything we already saw in the parent story.

At least the parent story ended the plot - what was with cutting off the last battle? That was so lame! If anything, they should have just scrapped this episode and left it end with Rachel's little special. Then the anime as a whole would have made more sense. :p

Random comment: I was also thoroughly unhappy to see Yajima without his signature glove; he only wore the one on his artificial arm, so now he lost some of his cool.

Personally, I don't think there would have ever been a second series for Linebarrel even if Gonzo didn't go bankrupt. It wasn't that popular, and I see many anime end in this open-ended way. But who knows. Maybe somebody will do an OVA or movie once the manga is completed? I heard that was still going...

I can't believe it ended like that, "10 minutes left of power", "Oh,i'll finish this in just 5 minutes".

They should have done something to let us know what happened with kizaki x Kouichi, he kissed the other two girls so he coulda done the same to this one but i guess the anime ended up with another lame ending.

guess we get more boobage in this episode as well. wow kouichi again showing hes the luckest man on the show and how hes the dumbest(poor shizuna). wow that was short self imprisonment time. Kizaki freak out was pretty funny and how she suggested everyone get in a touching orgy. aw thats bs I wanted to see the giant vs gianter robot fight.

This episode was a perfect example of "story detracting from fanservice." Give us more swimsuits and romantic-comedy shenanigans, not pointless mecha battles with a fanfiction-tier "new menace arises after final battle" enemy.
