Never would I expect a Crayon Shin-chan spin-off featuring Nohara Hiroshi by another author that's not the mangaka of said series.

I mean yeah, there's only so much that can be done for Shin-chan's father Nohara Hiroshi, as is his work and food philosophy that's produced in Flash animation studio DLE's ever so in-your-face animation. It's all about the food and how Nohara takes it in after all, though trying to impress some female workers that's all in their K-Pop stan style, the intense spiciness did not end well for him.

Even with his boss Kawaguchi, Nohara having to treat him to lunch with his limited budget, and setting for simple seafood and tuna rice, his boss is even more impressed by the variety of seafood, than Nohara eating simple food and just purely enjoying it alright, rather than his boss just eating both the lunch and his money away.

A decent start to an obscure series well enough...

I'm surprisingly related to this anime even though I only watch a few episodes of Shin-chan.

I love Japanese food, and that's why I'm so envious that people in Japan get to eat Japanese food every day, with cheapest choice and best choice possible, and the food ingredient is so fresh.

For example, Kaisen-don in this episode has a price tag of 1,000 yen, it'd be four times more expensive in my country to eat the same thing, and it's not even as fresh as Japan.

But I proudly have my own way to deal with Shoyu and wasabi, I don't rinse directly into the rice bowl. But maybe I should try this method from now on?

Watching this anime in the middle of the night is so cruel... it makes me so hungry!

Not really feeling this one, I can see why it could appeal to a few people with discerning taste but no 3 ep rule for me thanks.

An okay anime but won't be impressive if you're new to Shin-chan. I used to watch Shin-chan back in the day. His dad can't hold a candle to that little rascal. I'm just interested in what he had to offer. I smiled a bit in the episode.

@phantomfandom I agree! Quite relatable in properly deciding how to budget your meal spending. That tuna rice made me damn hungry.

Unfortunate that the MTL'd Eng subs for this are a bit warped, it's not a dealbreaker tho.

@12ozmouser yeah I usually watch eng sub so I'm quite annoyed by machine translate, but guess what, somehow the subtitle in one language which I understand is a proper translation so I choose that choice immediately.

This seems like a nice show but the English subtitles are atrocious. So many easy mistakes that even just a proofread over the machine translation would've caught. It screams laziness.

@Red_Ranger_Wien Especially at the very start when it goes from "My name is" to "He is"
