If you were offered the power to obtain truthful answers to every question you ask, would you take it?

They do say that ignorance is bliss. Would you agree with that? But if you had the opportunity to know literally everything, would you let it pass? You could discover every detail we have yet to learn about our universe. Our world would have no mystery for you anymore. But if they say that the more you know, the unhappier you become, would you then actually be afraid that the answers you get could slowly but surely crush your spirit more and more? What do you think? And what would you do?

Sure, sounds like a high demand ability, I'd probably get hired by some intelligence agency.
No, this isn't my signature.

A lot of people would want to eliminate you and you'd probably end up dead at the hands of some secret service

There are zillions of open problems that you would simply know? Physics, mathematics, material sciences, social sciences, even philosophy. Who is insane enough they would pass that up? I don't care about the existential crisis that makes. You get the opportunity of improving everyone life just by asking yourself "Is there a way to produce a better battery? How?", "In this terrain and soil, how to optimally plant food?". A lot more of unhappiness comes from not knowing things. The other hidden implication is that you can literally ask what investments are good ideas and for how long. And how to survive and best schemes to stay legal and subtle. The opposite of what people have with chat gpt now.

People who say the more you know the unhappier you become generally don't know a lot of shit about things outside of their fields.

I don't ever ask questions to people where they would want to lie anyway so I wouldn't find any need for it. However if I was working for some organisation I reckon it would come in quite handy.

The majority of people are egoistic, corrupted beings; even if they know all about everything, their knowledge by itself is useless without knowing and predicting what's coming further.

It's also more suitable when knowledge is combined with the power since it has more of an impact on strategy, and strategy is what makes knowledge useful.

In any case, I feel like for regular mortals, being able to see and understand the bigger picture of things is more interesting and viable than knowing every detail, especially if all those details are coming from media and editable sources and not from your personal experience.

I'd take it in an instant, obviously. Even if it wasn't as big as the knowing all secrets to the Universe, simply knowing why certain things in my life happened the way they did would be more than enough and let me live my life in peace.

I would take it. I gotta be careful about what questions I ask. Don't want any enemies

I know enough to know I don't want to know any more.

Ignorance is bliss as they say, but honestly yeah I probably would take a chance on it.
