This anime loves doing storytelling so focusing on an elderly guy is no surprise.

The past connects the present but the hitman theme is still there. It's just really interesting how certain characters hsa those roots and traces them to the hotel inhumans.

All guests of this hotel are special need guests, but this is the first guest that has special need in a way that we normal people can all related.

Damn it all! This is a gut punch I didn't really need. My Mother died from Dementia & complications in December of 2021. It's an Heartache that never goes away.

Suzumura, despite having dementia, remembers his daughter, Hazuki, or at the very least, the day in which father and daughter spent the day at the beach.

Hazuki, despite looking tired and burdened from taking care of her father, still loves him and will go looking for him.

Maybe this is one of the happier endings for assassins, as compared to being killed off in a dark alleyway.
Authentic.

To think that I just came back from taking care of my grandma, who suffers from dementia... There were too many where I paused and said: "F***!. Too real" (To be fair to my grandma, she's more likely to ask for the same medication over and over, than to check into an assassins-only hotel).

But yes, this is the face. This episode really hit home for me:

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

Still no idea how the score is so low here. This was such a gut wrenching episode because it’s the most realistic one yet. While most people can’t relate to being assassins, a lot of us either currently have someone or have known someone we love suffering from dementia or Alzheimer’s.

I was just talking about Bruce Willis the other day and saying how it’s the cruelest fate imaginable because your loved one is there, but not really there or they come and go on occasion all while being trapped in a prison of their own mind. It’s a fate worse than death and I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. The fact Suzumura doesn’t remember much, but he remembers his wife, daughter and that he could always go to hotel inhumans for help is sweet. The way the one memory he’s held onto is the happiest day of his life with his daughter on the beach really got me emotional.

You can tell Hazuki is struggling and tired from trying to take care of her dad, but those brief periods where he comes back make it all worth it. Please give this arc a happy ending next week.

ykw, I'm gonna discount how flat the production is with such a great writing of the storyboard.

I'm probably quite biased toward parent-child episodes, though. The insert song is rather lovely (and better than both the OP/ED), too.

Bi Kamome's vocal is credited as Momo from Charan-Po-Rantan, the duo from that idol song on E4. Hopefully the anime will release both tracks.
