This movie was really Great! Not the best there is, but really emphasis the Nagano Police officer's character, and it was a blast!
The final scene with Kogoro was Insanely cool!
Next movie is about the "Angel Rider"... If you know who am I talking about...
9/10 from me!

It was an interesting movie to get to know Kogorou no oji-san a bit more.

it happened among different sections of police.

Kogorou partner "Same" (he's from Tottori as shown at the end of the movie) getting shot before meeting Kogorou because case among secret police mission.

Criminal is another secret police who is also boyfriend of girl got hurt when two criminals doing their things. One in prison and was out temporary in mountain practicing to kill his partner, who was live while selling his partner into prison and living as someone else to pray for the victim every year w. guilt. The criminal is against the fix law that related to letting the criminal go.

There's also a special police taking care of secret information that chasing for the criminal.

Kids visiting astrology important for stopping case using the rays (?) which Haibara knows as scientist.

Special riffle from confiscating as his job as secret police, and remodeling for shooting while wearing helmet.

Kogorou seems to be good at shooting so he was able to stop criminal at the end, but leaving the credit to another police. Is he tsundere or something because he told Conan it is not for fun when he said he will follow this time (and was sad over his ex-partner's death). He was actually caring for the child's safety as he is ex-police. Also the movie showed that it was actually Kogorou instead of "hunter" guy (the criminal who lived in secret) saving the scary face police (the key to the movie).

"Koumei" police also saw his brother in the verge of death. and saw the relations between the childhood police. so the lady was "batsu-ichi" for mission because of scary face police's missing.

Conan collaborated w. scientist working in the astrology center in mountain and Haibara (also scientist) to the ray light to block criminal, while Kogorou shooting the car.

the police school guy is scary when doing what they usually do to ask the criminal/police

Ran was useful for protecting the kids from the criminal shooting, which leaving the key to the criminal. No wonder even for a strong martial artist, Ran cannot win because he's a police, who went under trainings.

Next movie is related to female police on bike?

So, is it Canon?
Will it be recognized in the ,aim story?

It feels like a waste of time otherwise no?

It felt much tamer than the previous movies tbh.

She should not be shocked at this point lol

Just watched it and I enjoyed it much more than the previous one! I went in with low expectations because to me the Nagano police is not super interesting, but the whole writing and animation was just top notch. Gave it a 9/10.

I especially liked how well integrated into the manga canon it feels with direct links to the Furinkazan case (516-517). Actually recommend to rewatch Furinkazan for the movie to remind yourself of the murder there aswell as Yui's marriage situation. They even officially aired remasters of this case when the movie came out.

Also finally we learn more of Kansuke's backstory.

I just wished we would've seen Kogoro more active because other than him shooting, he didn't really have much focus and all the spotlight went to the Nagano characters. Kogoro was being built up in the trailers and at the beginning of the movie, so him doing parts of the deductions and maybe some scenes of him during his time at the police would've been nice.

Btw. Aoyama said that Yamamura was originally supposed to appear too because of his relation to Takaaki, but then decided against using him because he is too goofy for a rather serious movie like this. The reason why Takaaki sees his brother in the dream scene is because he lied to Yamamura in episodes 1123-1124 The Body on the Gunma-Nagano Border.

Also it was pretty nice that at the end they dedicated the movie to Miyuki Ichijo, the voice actress of Jodie, aswell as Yukihiro Shibutani, who was an art director of detective conan. They even added a minor notch to the scene, where Jodie offered Haibara the witness protection program as a tribute to jodie's VA.

Oh, and for anyone interested: I recommend watching episode 1161 The Secret's Afterimage after the movie since it is like an extended epilogue/sequel to it.
