According to an 'insider report' by Toyo Keizai, Kagurabachi by Takeru Hokazono would be getting an anime adaptation by CyberAgent and Shochiku. These two companies would be in charge of the series' production with no further details yet decided.

The adaptation is in production by Cygames Pictures. We better get some good staffs too.

Cygames studio going for anime outside their games. The mecha anime was a mess but they have another anime scheduled for next year which looks interesting and now Kagurabachi. Hoping for good adaptation. Kinda skeptic cause vastly different from the stuff they've done so far.

Cygames has a pretty consistently high level of quality & sakuga across Priconne and Umamusu (especially the movie), even U149; unironically think they’d be a very good choice for the adaptation. They did a Blade Runner short a few years ago that looked closer in tone and style/feel to KGB as well

An anime adaptation with only 59 chapters so far? That still seems way too early but let’s see what happens. MHA first got its anime announced when it was at like 65 chapters so it’s not like something HAS to reach 100+ chapters first before this milestone.

It's far too early to expect anything. Episode 1 won't air until after 100 chapters. Could they make a season now? Sure. Should they? No. For one the start to the Rakuzaichi auction would only be 12 episodes. Then they be mostly caught up and the next season would take years.

The longer they put off season 1 the less time there will be in between seasons.

@DayRivia I think they'll be fine to make a season now. Let's say the anime drops, optimistically speaking, next Fall at the earliest. The manga will be at 100 chapters by then, and if the anime doesn't drop until sometime in 2026, then the manga will be even more ahead of whatever the first season would cover. The manga would continue as the anime airs, further widening the gap, and after the season finishes, the manga will still keep going which would increase the separation as we wait for S2 of the anime. I think they'd be fine without too much risk of catching up to the manga too fast, but of course we'll just have to wait and see.

Enough time has passed, indeed.

I didn't expect CygamesPictures to be the studio behind Kagurabachi anime adaptation, but honestly, I'm positive. They can totally handle the cinematic atmosphere of this manga (they made fantastic Blade Runner 2022: Black Out), and give justice to spectacular scenes with well-done sakuga animation (just check out random clips from Uma Musume and how insanely good they look).

They are also known from consistent quality of shows they work on, so most likely Kagurabachi anime will have more or less similar production quality. Hopefully the staff is gonna be good enough to make truly a peak tenoí anime adaptation.

So, while I was initially surprise, I'm positive about CygamesPictures. Is it the best pick? No idea. We will see. But for sure it's a solid studio capable of giving justice to the Kagurabachi source material.

There's no official confirmation, so I will wait till that comes.

But I would not doubt that an anime adaptation is in the works.

I feel this is just rumor that’ll fall apart, it happens all too often. Also, the studio for Kagurabachi should be a big one… I think ufotable would be the best choice for the style, but they still got their hands full with DS.

I don’t think I’ve seen any anime from Cygames so hopefully they can pull it off if this is true. Kagurabachi 100% deserves a quality adaptation!

@GoCrayzee It could fall apart sure, but it seems to be more than just a rumor. From my brief understanding Toyo Keizai’s report is a rather serious journalistic undertaking with proper sources and stuff. Not some leaks that get put on twitter.

But that aside Cygames can definitely put some work into their projects. Others in the thread have their own recommendations if you want to check them out. To throw mine in, having just finished it a few days ago. Princess Connect Re:Dive S2 e11 was pretty action packed and a visual feast.

Thanks! I’ll check that out. I’m excited for an adaptation if it’s not rumor, Kagurabachi animated is gonna be sick!

I foresee this being an incredible success in the future. I have high hopes of even reading the manga due to the good reviews I've heard from some people. I'm not a fan of shounen but I'll definitely follow this, and maybe in the future I'll read the manga. This type of adaptation is like a "pass the time", it's something that I'll watch because of the emotion put into the premiere and I'll definitely enjoy the content. That said, looking forward to this premiere!💥

@thebrentinator24 This really isnt early at all, this wasn't an announcement just a leaker pointing to whose starting production and its probably not gonna get wrapped for a year so its not gonna start until its a little into its 3rd year like hero was.

Sad taste you have there kid you came up to me in the first place making you look more like a kid who got slapped without me even knowing it and start crying about it to me

I think more of the problem of enough source material,it's only the succes,In JAP,that determine the possible anime adaptation.

GOOD NEWS!
The manga has incredible pannels.
So,like all of us I hope we will have a adaption full of sakuga and great transcription of the fight's choreographies.
