There was a time when "Trapped in MMO" was a fad (SAO, Log Horizon, Overlord, etc.) and Little Sister RomComs.

Recent years have been taken over by Isekai.

Now it's Delinquents?

Hardly. There's only like tokyo revengers, that one about genies and honki people, that one that looked like absolute garbage (rokudou or whatever), and this one. Four shows -Total- among literal dozens each season. Barely passes off as a pattern, let alone a genre overtake.

I haven't seen banana fish, but maybe that's a fifth. But still, 5 shows since 2021...? nah my boi

I don't think so there aren't many delinquents genre animes so it's not like new isekai

Nah, there are still a bazillion isekai shows every season and it doesn’t look like it’s gonna change any time soon.

Delinquent shows are not nearly as frequent, maybe one per season? Probably less.

But these threads are pretty funny though, seeing how people are so desperate for isekai to go away and to identify what’s the new trend, it ain’t going away mate.

There have been so many anime coming out since then, this completely limited perspective is humorous

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

You say that while there are still the usual 10+ random dumb ass isekai that we get every season, that are currently airing. If there are 5 other delinquent series currently airing then I guess I get your point.

I saw this topic and thought about it and noticed that anime about delinquents in general are about less than the isekai anime of just this season. That is, it matters that 8 isekai were released in this season alone

Not at all. The only really popular delinquent manga/anime that’s out other than Wind Breaker is Tokyo Revengers. And that’s pretty much it. Tokyo Revengers was actually my first introduction to delinquent mangas overall. There isn’t anything else that’s super popular or major in that genre. If anything Isekais are still more popularly known as a genre.
