Yes. I would say it's probably my favorite anime of all time, even above something like HxH which I also think is fantastic. I'd highly recommend giving it a chance. Just note that it does take about 8-11 episodes to really get rolling, but once it does, it doesn't let up for the remainder of the show.

the ratings on mal is all over the place so this thing is not very uncommon however in this case steins gate absolutely deserves to be in its rating,people might say it picks up at episode ___ but personally i was hooked from episode 1

This anime is the best anime I have ever seen in my life. I also watched FMAB, which is currently ranked in the top 2, but for me, Steins;Gate was beyond a masterpiece. Most people say that the first 10 episodes were boring; however, you're going to regret it when everything changes into a massacre. Those times were precious. The plot of the anime is a bit complicated for starters, as it's totally about time travel and brings real-life theoretical concepts like the black hole theory, the many-worlds interpretation theory, chaos theory, etc. You can find more on the wiki. Oh man, I can't even describe how much I love this anime.

Yes an absolute masterpiece of a show and only two cours so you don’t even have to commit a ton of time to enjoying it’s splendor

Comparing S;G to HxH is like comparing diamonds to stone.

My point is, it’s illogical to compare two shows that have nothing in common other than the fact that they’re anime.
