| After reading Death Note, I realized that I got into Yagami Light not so much because of the personality he represents, but because of his good philosophical elaboration and development throughout the chapters. And so, the situation repeats itself, but after going through vn Fate and watching the anime, this time I liked Gilgamesh, and liked him even more than the rest of the characters, counting protagonists and antagonists. Gilgamesh was two-thirds god and one-third man, and no one in the world could compare to him. Being a despot, he had a high divinity and believed in his invincibility, which, however, was one of his main weaknesses, because he greatly underestimated his opponents. Gilgamesh is well written as a character. If you look at him from a philosophical perspective in F/sn (which is different from Zero), I think of Thanos, who wanted to destroy half the universe to avoid overpopulation. Gilgamesh, on the other hand, wanted to test all of humanity in a monstrous way, selecting the strongest who could survive and fight for their lives to eventually rule them. 10 years of living in the modern era clearly influenced his priorities, which is not surprising. Overall - I like Gilgamesh, even though he often acts like a pompous jerk, but at least in "Zero" he has the right to. And if you read The Epic of Gilgamesh or his entire biography in Fate, you can respect this character to some extent.  |

| He's okay, but probably the most boring out of the major villain characters. Kirei and I cant say who because of HF spoilers both had more interesting motives and matched him in stage presence. It doesn't help that the anime makes him into an idiot who will stand there and let himself get killed out of some bizarre logic of never letting him actually get outclassed |

| Just like almost everyone else, he might be the most arrogant, egotistical piece of shit in anime but he's just as likable, it's like a seriously good literature to make someone so hateable yet so likable at the same time |
