Doraemon, Naruto, and Gundam (only the game and Char's Counterattack) as a kid, though aside from those I never really watch any other anime until the pandemic (like 10+ years later).

After that, my first was Shakugan No Shana for some reason, it was good enough to make me discover other better anime, my true hook was Assassination Classroom.

Naruto around 2013, so I guess I've been watching anime for about a decade. If you count Pokemon, around like 2008.

As a kid, without knowing what anime was, was the usual Digimon and Pokemon. The anime that got me into anime was Mirai Nikki in 2013.

I didn't realize I was already watching anime with Pokemon and Yokai-watch. I think it was around 2014, romance animes from KyoAni that pulled my interest which is either: Tamako Market or Love Chuunibyou. But the one anime that I straight up got committed to finishing was Assassination Classroom and regular watching started from there. All of these were witnessed by Animax until anime streaming became easily accessible so much.

Yes, I wouldn't count Pokémon when I wad a kid, because to me in the 90s, that was just cartoons and was made to be very non-Japanese in the West.

Then after Pokémon, I didn't watch anime again until later in high school. I'm pretty sure it was around grade 10 or 11. I watched Ranma 1/2, Final Fantasy Unlimited, some of Inuyasha and Naruto and my friend recorded chobits for me on VHS. I think there was a few more 90s and early 2000s anime I watched too and it kind of just grew on me, naturally. This was during the early 2000s, so it wasn't very common to find anime on TV, so you somewhat had to make the effort to find it.

Around 2006 I saw a picture of Lucy in some online forum and then searched for red haired girl with horns and then watched Elfenlied on youtube.

And then everything went downhill from there.

This can be found in my profile...

When: 2014 is the year I dove into anime.
I had seen shows on TV like Star Blazers in the 80's & DBZ in the 90's, and it was around 2010 that I saw one of the GItS movies on Cartoon Network, but never really got "into it".
I never really knew anime was "a thing" til sometime around late 2012 or early 2013 after seeing the category on a torrent site.
Titles like Unbreakable Machine-Doll caught my eye, as not being a "regular" type of cartoon/animation, but hadn't followed up on them.

Which: Bleach is the show that got me hooked on anime.
Early 2014 I had picked up on a couple Appleseed movies because they were cheap. I got to talking with a co-worker about them and one of the shows he recommended was Bleach.

You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Sorry if my sarcasm is bad, it's not my first language.

I watched some in my childhood, like Digimon and Zatch Bell, but I really get in anime in 2013, all because of Fairy Tail

It's always been present in my life one way or another. I have two older siblings who were/are both into anime, and I'd sometimes sit alongside them in the couch to watch what they were watching (mainly Naruto since this was in the 2000s), and I remember watching parts of Death Note this way too. In the second grade I was super obsessed with Yu-Gi-Oh, so that was technically my first anime, but I was more into it because it was Yu-Gi-Oh and less because it was anime, though I'd also sometimes stay up past my bed time and watch adult swim like a naughty boy and I cached a few episodes of Inuyasha this way.

The anime that I consider to have truly kickstarted it all was One Piece which I got super obsessed with in 7th grade. This was around 2013.

I've been watching Doraemon since I was 5. My first anime ever that I watched knowing it was an anime was probably Higurashi back in 2015

I didn't even know that Doraemon, Shin-Chan, Kiteretsu and Hagemaru were anime but they were my childhood's good hours of the day. What got me into anime is probably a knotty answer for me. For years I ignored my dear friend's plea to watch Deathnote and One Punch Man. In late 2020, I was bombarded on my YT home with videos of Konosuba and Umaru-Chan. I would watch the videos but not the anime itself. in December of 2020, I watched a video of an anime called Witchcraft Works! And I completely and utterly took the initiative to watch it because of the fan-service. Later, I would continue to watch main-stream and cult classic anime.
PS: I still haven't watched Deathnote.

Basically me and my friend did some anime opening blind tests. He had already watched his fair share of anime, but I had only ever listened to some openings. We did pretty well (he found way more openings than I did) then there was one he didn't find, and obviously me neither; it was "Your Lie In April". I didn't think much of it and laughed it off, but on the next one we did it came up again, so we eventually ended up getting it right. I had never watched any anime, but I was a bit curious. So I decided I'd watch it; it was an amazing decision. I've obviously loved it and it's probably the one which is dearest to me, and I also had the chance to discover many more amazing anime.

Some of you never watched Bakugan Battle Brawlers on TeleToon in 2008 and it shows.
