| I was eager to read this as a fan of Midori no Hibi, but as entertaining with some good elements it has, it was incredibly disappointing in the end. It's somewhat relatable in many fronts, from insecure unrequited love and fear to speak to your crush, the stalker-love aspect, the fantasy of being perverted while being invisible, being openly perverted in of itself, and the hopelessness from negative thoughts making you feel depressed. Unfortunately, it was all over the place. I haven't read many of his works, so this incredibly perverted story was surprising, which is fine but doesn't exactly work in a romcom. I think the concept of invisibility and stalking a crush works best as a more realistic perverted adult genre type of story. In this case, it's midly funny, with hysterical reactions, but it's difficult to take seriously, along with the underwhelming or stupid plots. The generic bad teenage girl gorgeous sexy model attempting to take advantage of a kind popular rich guy for money is ok, but I personally hated it after she became a tsundere and loved him after he saved her from a dog. Showing her success through literal sleeping and not sex with an old man for opportunities of model gigs in a comedy felt distasteful. I'm fond of shy girls who have unrequited crush as they struggle, but even though she's funny, the comedic invisible naked stalker aspect is bizarre. It's funny, and I can enjoy non-comedic stories like that if they're intriguing and good, but this manga was a mess. Her dad with the same ability is funny, but nonetheless, the story is ridiculous. Worse in the end is that her crush is a open pervert about to have sex with his favorite porn actress, which completely kills the point of romance. Awful mess. 2/10. |
