This is not something I would've had an opinion on a week ago (although I've passingly seen some nice ones in the past), but I recently finished reading "Vampire Knight" and LaLa had some pretty nice "Vampire Knight" issue covers.   |

Haven't looked into it but I just know that Kaori Yuki has definitely drawn a bunch of good illustrations for the front cover of a magazine. |

Noticing that each of these examples have a pop of fuchsia, but I'm really liking how vibrant the colors and there's an element of gore to the first two. |

The cover of "Rakuen -Le Paradis-" is really beautiful, although it is a fairly minor manga magazine even in Japan.  |

You cannot go wrong with "D.Gray-man" or "Toilet-bound Hanako-kun," but that first "Black Butler" magazine cover is also pretty good. Do you know the name of the series that's getting the crossover with Hanako in the second-to-last one? EDIT: Actually, the coloring for the second "Black Butler" illustration is really nice. |

There's this detailed lighting to the hair, but the backgrounds are really nice with the details and have this relaxing atmosphere. Also, I like the fancy design around the magazine title. |

| The covers of manga magazines have a lot of text introducing the work, the author's name, and the special feature, so if it was a manga I liked, I was more than happy to illustrate the opening color in the magazine. Even now, I think it is when CLAMP's picture is on the cover of a magazine that catches my attention at the bookstore, saying "that's beautiful. |
