As the title says, does anyone know how many volumes are left to adapt the anime?

good question. They addapt like 4 vol for season, it's possible season 5 and movie or season 5 part1/2
Or they will squeeze 6 vol in 12ep and make total disaster.
Best case scenario would be 24 ep to conclude this story

I'm guessing they'll adapt the last volume in its own movie

Anime adapts so far all the way up to volume 16, there iis 17 - 22 left if they are going to adapt all of it then at least 20+ episodes to end it all off imo because of the amount of stuffs happening during volumes 17 - 19.
Each season adapts around 3-4 volumes of the LN though I highly recommend you read the LNs in the meantime whilst waiting for season V

There's no way it's a double cour. Like most people here, I'm leaning towards the fifth season covering the next three volumes and a movie for the three last volumes.
If you've read the three last volumes, you'll notice that most of the plot and action slow down significantly in a way that they can easily be compressed into a movie without losing too much of the plot. The point of the last novels were to give an epilogue to the story and thus they probably won't get a season of their own.

Also, who the hell made this image to be read top to bottom, left to right?

As far as I remember about season 1 and 2, they were good(or at least acceptable), season 3 was meh... now let's hope the remaining story won't be ruined and they'll take all episodes needed for adaptation(I hope season 5 won't be the last, unless it won't have 2 cours)

everything is possible 24 ep,double cour,12ep+movie who know
just need to wait 2 year probably to see what they make
probably some japanise made it so it read from top to bottom

I think 24 episodes might be difficult bcz usually it takes 4 volumes for 12 episodes and i think at best it only adopt around 20 episodes hope coming season will air till conclusion or 12 episodes+ movie might not be a bad idea

S1 and 2 they skipped minor things that don't impact the story, like i know S1 parts of Tohka's date is isn't there (if remembering correctly) but otherwise most of things are there.

S3 they removed the Mio Takamiya mention in Volume 12, aka the Episode 12 of S3 issue people had including myself. Sure it was just a name and yes they say it in S4 so it's fine but I mean they basically ruined a fun volume/made it a single episode when they could have made 13 episodes not 12 besides the name mention being important even if yes just a name it's like the memories Kotori/Shido got back, it's important even if they briefly cover it. Itgets you thinking, what does this mean, who are they (besides that yes Shido's real last name is Takamiya so yes like Mana another biological sister) and so on just as much as the Kotori being blamed before Origam's parents in S3 or thought of all this time until S3 with her arc.

Otherwise yes we have 6 volumes left.
S1 did 4 volumes,
S2 did 3 (Miku arc was two volumes),
S3 did 4 (Natsumi and Origami are both 2 volume arcs),
while S4 I was unsure as I have not read Volume 16/17 even though you have Nia as 1 volume, Mukuro as 2 volumes and Kurumi as 2 volumes and I have no idea if they butchered it to have 5 volumes covered).

I know 5 volumes can work the Komi series had season 1 cover 5 volumes somewhat then continued on but of course it's a 4koma a comedy slice of life so each story/chapter can be done however they want it to be while with Date A Live I do think it was odd how they handled S4 covering 5 the way they did with it being a story driven/light novel so you expect it to be not cutting corners compared to more flexible series.

Even with the delay I do question what they were thinking here.

I though they would redo the disaster that was Volume 12/S3 EP12 but nope. S4 doing what it did yes was an epic ending as I hadn't read volume 16/17+ yet but I still have worries of what they cut out.

I mean I was questioning the prologue or backstory as the one i read in volume 16's prologue wasn't that I assume it's a later backstory that's expanded upon not the prologue one that's showing her love for cats and her family situation which wasn't shown so of course the original source material character details thing we all see not happening in adaptations with VNs and I assume LNs however often.

I hope they don't do just S5 as all 6 and think we need movies and OVAs like the Infinite Stratos 40 minute length type approach. I want a proper S6 and 7 if need be to handle it all well but eh I don't know what to think. That or if Spirit Pledge helps it, besides Ren Utopia coming to the west like the other 3 VNs did, whatever Date A Bullet is like for adaptions/volumes or if the EnCore novels continue either as I don't know if they ended or not.

I can see it going bad but I hope they do it well and not cut too many corners. Let alone if Geeks Toys even does S5 or we have yet another studio take on the series as DAL anime adaptation tradition it seems XD).

1 two-cour season or 2 one-cour seasons, plus a sequential movie if possible should be reasonable. 6 volumes of the main novel, and 1+ chapters from DAL Encore vol 10 and 11 (maybe)

The best approach would be a double cour season 5 to adapt 17-20. 21-22 are like the epilogue so they shouldn't try to put 20 with it as it will disrupt the flop. so 21-22 or encore would best be new cour, ova series, movie.
Season 4 itself had major cuts and adapted less plot heavy volumes. Volume 15 had the shrine visit completely cut and since most of the novel happened in the fairy tale they managed to squeeze in
17-20 definitely shouldn't be crammed into a single cour since not only is the finale, it has by far the most important events and shocking revelations. 17-20 are like the best written light novels you can find and it is thanks to build up and heavy foreshadowing due to the prior seasons. So it needs to be properly spaced out

It is never going to happen but i wish seasons 1-3 would get redone by Geek Toys. I actually don’t care that much for the art style, but it’s such a drastic change and inconsistent.
