DBS: SUPER HERO has sold 386,341 tickets in its opening weekend (Sat & Sun) & earned 685 Million Yen ($5.09 Million).

For comparison, Broly sold more than 820,000 tickets & earned more than 1.05 Billion yen ($9.26 million) in its first three days.

Note: Super Hero is being shown in 371 theaters, while Broly was shown in 467. Also Broly’s record is for 1 extra day, total 3 days, while SH is only for 2 days.

BoG and F were also Saturday releases and sold more tickets in their opening weekend than SH.
SH certainly isn’t a flop and the worldwide numbers will probably be pretty strong, but ultimately this is a disappointing opening.

I wonder how many tickets this movie will sell internationally, once it will start airing in cinemas outside Japan.

What's the budget and full cost to make and release it.
"I think I wanted to attack something. Like betraying people or hurting people. And, well, it's not exactly nice, but hurting the readers too... In all honestly, I feel that's what I really wanted to do. For me, as a reader, when I think, "this manga will remain in my heart," it means, for example, it phenomenally hurt me: It's those kinds of experiences I'm after." - Pajime Hisayama (My favourite hurting author).

I saw it on Sunday. It was different from what I thought it would be, but it was good for what it is. Not worth the $18 ticket, but I enjoyed it.

Not gonna lie, I don't remember watching any anime at a cinema so I don't know if it's always more expensive but the brand name of cinema that I go every each one of them a regular seat is 8$. Was it the regular one that you bought because I find it expensive.

Is that a good or bad profit in a short amount of time?

Knowing that as days go by people go less and people spread that bad energy that ''Oh well, it wasn't as good but it did what it had to do.'' It's giving me less hope unlike the Super : Broly movie. I wonder what will happen with the release in international theaters/movies

Movie theaters are expensive in Japan. I saw Too Gun and that was $18 too.

It makes sense, they thrive on this industry after all.

Soon a lot of countries will start airing this movie in their cinemas. I wonder if there will be a significant boost of ticket sales due to that fact, or will it be rather timid.
