Have you gone through a phase like that?
| I don't remember whether it was Fairy Tail or Junjou Romantica that really woke me up from this phase. Before I started watching online, I mostly just watched what was on TV or read the manga that was in the public library. I also thought that Black Cat was pinnacle anime for a long time. |

| Even when I was a 4 year-old in Moscow watching Russian dubs of Voltron, Cyborg 009, and the original Gundam...no. Because we also had Russian dubs of Superbook and while I didn't hate it, I was largely indifferent to it. |

| Not really. I just kind of watched them and didn't care or I simply thought "this is pretty good". I had seen tons of shows and movies (nearly 600 at the time) before I started treating anime as a hobby / became fully immersed in it (in other words, focused my attention onto it instead of other mediums) so I had a good idea of what "quality" was like to me. So even in my favorite shows like Dragon Ball, flaws were pretty apparent to me. No anime stood out to me as amazing aside from a few like One Punch Man and Mob Psycho 100. |

| Not every single one but definitely most. That's just the beginner phase. We've all been there. Watched Elfen Lied when I was a 12 year old newbie. Aside from the bewbs, I vividly remember not liking it. |

| Right now I feel like I'm at the end of my journey with anime, to a point where everything I see has good qualitites to it, anything is entertaining to the very least. Happened the same when I stated as well. Guess I don't have any expectations to fulfill anymore. |

| Yep. When I started watching anime I was easily entertained by almost anything. After like the first 100's, I gradually lost that ability and became more critic. |
| From time to time there's a lucky streak where just everything I watch is great and blows my mind and affects me so much emotionally, in a good way. When it happens, it usually lasts about 4-6 shows before something comes along and ruins it. The longest streak was around 2014 I think? And another one in 2018 or 19. Oh, I guess getting into donghua was a bit like that too, because all the first ones I watched were widely beloved, so I had only positive experiences at first. I'm always kinda worried that I might be too annoying, because I keep gushing about how amazing a show I'm watching is to all my friends, and when I finally finish it and they think it's over, I can't stop praising the next one either, and it just continues forever 😅 Sadly, the opposite exists too ofc, where I try 10 shows in a row and drop every single one because none of them work for me. |
