Do you ever give dropped anime a second chance?

Well, personally, I have yet to give a dropped anime a second chance. The series that I have seen so far that I've dropped really bored me with the exception of "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumia" which pissed me off cause I found out that I was watching it in a screwy order.

So far, I want to give Haruhi a second chance, but it ain't gonna happen soon.

depends on a) how much of it I watched and b) how much of it fanatics think I should've watched (as long as it's not "The entire thing", there has to be a point where you can tell if it's gonna grab you or not and it had better be before the halfway point). If they said I didn't give it a fair chance then so be it, I might try a few more eps because then at least none of those fanatics can say "You didn't give it a fair trail" when by their standards I did. I for one think 5 eps was more than enough of a chance for GITS:SAC, 3 stand alone and 2 complex episodes. Trust me, I wanted to drop that one after the second episode but managed to hold out until 5.

Maybe. Depends. Sometimes it has to be a long time before I even dare try again in case maybe I've had a change of taste or something. But it's not often.

I have done, mainly things that when i first watched them, i wasnt prepared to watch them. An example would be Lucky Star, dropped after the 1st episode thinking what the hell is this. About a year later i had watched a few slice of lifes and found myself liking the genre, so went back and watched it and loved it, the genre being one of my favaurites with Minami-ke, Strawberry Marshmellow and many others being extremely enjoyable to watch.

Other things like princess princess i couldnt have watched when i first started on anime, nor magical girl and things like that. Sometimes your just not ready to see a show for what it is, or you need to see something simliar but easier to watch to draw you in. Nanoha allowed me to see such shows and is a personal favourite. Princess Princess was pretty funny and allowed me to be brave enough to venture into anime i wouldnt of thought i'd like to begin with, Wallflower is one such example, i even bought the dvds and watched the jdrama.

I try not to drop things, even if im not enjoying what im seeing. This has caused some regrets though, School Days and White Album are amoungst these, White Album so much so i cant bring myself to watch the second season to see how it ends.

If its of genre you dont watch or didnt at the time, but have seen others since and enjoyed them, it may not be a bad idea to give it another go, you might enjoy it. For me now nothing is out completely ruled out with exception of shows that too heavy in the shounan-ai department for my taste, i am a guy after all, subtle i can deal with, but in your face i prefer to avoid. Others are shows that leave a bad taste in your mouth, like School Days and White Album, for me too much drama, i felt too much hatred for the characters that i couldnt enjoy what i was seeing, though im unsure i was supposed enjoy what i saw in the first place.

Once. It was for Lucky Star.

When I watched the first episode I was bored out of my mind. However, when I got used to slice of life anime, the series was surprisingly entertaining for me when I picked it back up.

I have once I think, with Trigun, wasn't bad but wasn't really worth picking back up.

I'll possibly give Gilgamesh and Kurokami another try someday.

If someone can convince me to give something on my drop list a second chance with viable and decent argument against why I dropped it.

Please note that if you are going to try this with a PM, telling me how much more is going on is not necessarily a good thing, nor is trying to point out characters I have not seen that you think are really cool. Please also don't make assumptions about why I didn't like it and just PM about that cause you don't know me. So PM first and ask why I don't it and we can discuss the matter about me picking it back up.

Gave a second chance to Blassreiter and Gunslinger Girl Il Teatrino.
Those are the only ones I've ever dropped, but since I want my ''Dropped anime'' list clean, had to continue watching them.

Yeah. I dropped Hellsing but then gave it a second chance and I'm glad I did (although Hellsing Ultimate was way better).

I gave Tenjou Tenge another chance but after watching one more episode, I dropped it again and for sure I won't give it another chance.

If I dropped it I either found it exceedingly boring or terrible. So, I don't see any reason to pain myself again.

I honestly try my hardest to finish the anime that I want to drop, in order to give them a fair evaluation.

If I'm really not interested in it, sometimes, I just take a really long break from them and then try to get myself to re-watch it later on.

But then, there are some anime, where I just can't see myself watching again, and those are the ones that I officially drop and never look back on.

If I dropped it I had good reason to. Either the subs for the anime were horrible - releasing was slow - or the show is bad. Very rare I'll actually un-drop a anime unless I have nothing better to watch.

Well when I drop a Series, I do not think it deserves abother chance.
I only drop Series when I realize there is no point in going on any further.

I [accidentally] gave Naruto shipuuden (spelling, dammit) a second chance. when I was flipping through the channels in TV when I saw a Tagalog (Philippines) dub of Naruto S. I ended up watching it because of the lack of things to do then, and the sad part is that I found it weirdly entertaining. I dropped it anyway because after watching it I realized that the dub is even worse than the show itself.

...All in all, yes and no.

Very occasionally. Only when people happen to give me the series, generally. It takes a lot for me to drop something, so it takes a lot for me to pick it back up and give it another chance. Having it on-hand, and somebody bugging me to put it on and watch it with them is about it.

Not always. But I did have a hard time getting through the first episode of Berserk, which took me about four tries to finish... and the series ended up becoming one of my favourites.

I had also dropped Strike Witches, and picked it back up and the series did a heel face turn and ended up being pretty awesome (considering what it was), so I guess yes, I would give a dropped series a second chance.

Only if it's completely irredeemable then I'd drop it completely. Or if it's Bleach.

How far in does that happen? I almost want to watch up until then just for the satisfaction of watching that happen.

I just want to be satisfied, and then drop the series for good, so please, do tell! :D

I will rest more easily knowing that this character has run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible.

Well i did a few times give a chance to dropped anime.
Because Bleach is in that list, i don't like the fillers and long loooooooong duration of the story.
Same goes for Naruto Shippuuden.
BUT, i've tried a few times to watch again... No succes.

It's still there now, and maaaybe i'll give it a try once again...:P

But that would be an exception, if i don't like, i drop and it's never to be seen again 0o

I watched the 1st episode of Clannad over a year ago and after that I deleted it and didn't watch the next. I was very tired when I watched it so I didn't take it in.

A year later I was bored and for whatever reason I downloaded it and watched it again. I really liked it so I watched the next and became hooked. Now it's my favorite show ever. :D
