good night guys, i finished kanata tonight and i have no words to describe the experience i had watching, i don't know if i was the only one who felt this way, but i can't find mistakes in this anime, in my eyes it's just perfect, in the end i think and just asked to myself "how this is not even more popular? , is just perfect..."

for those who watched, did you have this same experience or am i overrating it too much, maybe for liking a little to much this show?

thankssss

I experienced the same, actually I underestimated it. And I'm sure most of us underestimate it, that's why it's popularity isn't the much it deserves.

Agreed. A very underrated anime which used a very interesting concept as the twist in the story.

Cause it is anime about space, this genre is always underrated.
Mechas and space are the most underrated genres.

One of the most mind-blowing plot twists in the history of anime by the end.
This show totally deserves more recognition.

No, you aren't overreacting. Sad that this anime isn't popular.

Prior I thought this was just about naive kids going on a Pixar/Dreamsworks-esque adventure on space with no real craft or planning put behind it. Boy did I stand corrected.
The most pleasant surprise was how every detail gets neatly explained by the end of it all, that careful thought was given to the underlying mystery, enough to *mostly* make up for the various deus ex machina the kids recieved.

Regardless of how unpopular this anime may seem, at least they managed to get a recognition at anime trending, because I think they won some award. But yeah, even until then, not much people is talking about it. It's quite sad tbh, because we rarely gets anime like this nowadays.

Yeah…
I mean, the ending was somewhat traditionally cliché, and, frankly lame brain sci-fi at its most 1920’s.
Like… if not, for the, end, I would have rated the show a 10, easily.
Ending aside, it’s still note-worthy, perhaps even, a bit, understated as a series; reason being, it uses retrograde post-2010’s pioneering aesthetics (which is interesting), with, well, thought out, heartfelt likable characters, who all have imaginable intentions, not to mention, Asta, has an, exciting process oriented story.
Asta should be watched simply for its, through and through, hopelessly hopeful excitement factor, if, that’s, your thing; regardless, of the “common… that old as dirt, monogrammed plot twist, again… really…” esq ending to the series.

Yes I also loved the story and the characters but I do not think it is underrated. Its score is just perfect for what anime is.

It came out when Demon Slayer, Dr. Stone, Fire Force and Vinland Saga were airing. Some anime just end up getting overshadowed.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

Great anime with great twists, that had an actual ending, which is really rare these days. I remember I've read RebelPanda's review, which is the top review for this series, and I almost passed on this anime, because it sounded boring and dumb. Now, after finishing it, his review looks actually dogshit and it's clear to see that he missed so many points.
Morale of the story: don't read reviews before watching.

I love the story, but the characters aren’t amazing so that’s probably why.

Well, if I remember correctly, it had won the award for "Best Sci-Fi anime of the year" in Crunchyroll Awards. So, it did get a little bit of recognition, to say the least.

i thought first 3 episodes were quite shabby only thing that kept me from dropping was the posts and reviews i read here i would expect a lot of people would have dropped early, 3 episodes is way too long, but after that it kept getting better and better there were so many points at which i thought wow this might be the greatest moment in the anime only to be overshadowed by a later moment i would call it a masterpiece if it werent for the first 3 episodes
