I've read the novel but have been following the anime for a while now. Xiaochun is always so over the top in his reactions and it's great.

Btw, i there a reason why we haven't gotten a new episode these past couple of weeks?

The true villain of this series is the infamous Hei Dawu. 🤣 That mushroom cloud in the background of Song Que realizing that his Aunt is basically entering a relationship with the person he hates second most (and technically most, but he doesn't know it yet) in the world was absolutely priceless! It's actually even better than I pictured it back when I read the novel. Whoever directed that scene deserves a goddamn medal.

10/10,mc's shamelessness/comedy antics through to the end, and still the anime delivered in the epic and dramatic moments, so i'm satisfied with this, and can't wait for the war arc

After a while Bai Xiao Chun will start to annoy you.
He never loses even though at times he never trains.
Women flock to him for apparently no real reason.
Even when he infiltrates a rival sect and injures loads of their people he is rewarded for that.
When he destroys half that sect they line up to defend him, the list goes on.
I still do not know what his end game is after 52 episodes, probably why you will have to keep watching.

i assume mc *did* actually forget about that one pill but was able to spin it and make it seem like he knew and that it was the one elder's fault for interrupting the pill refining process, etc

it turns out the pill survived even though the peak was blown to smithereens. a 5th tier pill, no less. and so obviously all these peak elders start fighting over it/mc again. yawn

so the sect ancestor comes and declares it belongs to the peak who originally procured it's production. makes sense. ancestor also gave mc some rare weapon. ancestor made 3 proclamations as well: something about blood something, something about the blood competition, and no more fighting between peaks and within peaks

i really hate these fluffy foo foo "romantic" scenes between mc and Song family peak leader lady

season 1 over. 7/10. probably more like 7.5/10. consistently good. not sure there were any bad episodes. but there weren't enough very good/great episodes to bump it up to an 8/10 imo, even though there were definitely a few very very good episodes - no doubt

Yo, Animation never disappoints us. But I hope the next season give us more detailed story direction and music improvement. I felt like some important character roles are just disappeared. Anyways, this season was really fun to watch. 10/9
