| The OVA, which is the only BRS anime, will be streamed online from June 25th to August 31st: The official website of the Black★Rock Shooter anime project has announced on Wednesday that the full 50-minute length of the anime will be streamed for free to "everyone," although it does not specify if the stream will be available outside Japan. The streaming is part of a promotional campaign that will run from June 25 to August 31. As the first part of the campaign, there will be a free DVD bonus extra for Hobby Japan magazine, which has a circulation of 160,000. The Nico Nico Douga video-streaming website will host the Black★Rock Shooter production crew on its Toriaezu Namachū program's Okinawa Special Week. Good Smile representative Aki Takanori, illustrator huke, director Shinobu Yoshioka, Ordet studio head Yutaka Yamamoto, and others will appear at the program. According to the official twitter of character goods maker COSPA, they will secure the profits by the sales of the Blu-ray edition and the special package. The song's creator huke and musical composer/producer ryo collaborated with Ordet on the project. | Hate to be the bearer of bad news, again, but it sounds like the overall release date (meaning, the streaming of the OVA) has also been pushed back to an unknown date at this time. I'm only assuming this because according to the site, an "early premiere" will be taking place on July 7th (Tanabata) for a lucky 150 subscribers to the aforementioned magazines...and if that's the "early premiere", then it's likely no one is going to see anything from the OVA until after that has taken place (except possibly for the actual anime trailer, and not a cam-recorded like the TAF one) The original site streaming date was going to be from June 25th - August 31st. On WIKI, it says that it will be released on July 24th (which is actually the date for the when the September issue of "Hobby Japan" is released). So there might not even be a streaming date >_> On a different, but maybe happier note, to those who have already pre-ordered the August issues of HJ, MMM, MAM, to make up for the delay, they each will be bundled with a special BRS collectors item: Monthly Hobby Japan will come with a BRS Character charm, seen below: Monthly Megami Magazine will come with a drawn pinup by HUKE Monthly Animedia will come with a Weiß Schwarz PR Card Monthly Hobby Japan's September issue (w/DVD) ships out on July 24th; Monthly Megami Magazine's September issue (w/DVD) ships out on July 30th; Monthly Animedia's September issue (w/DVD) ships out on August 10th |

In addition to that, there is a commemorative release event that is going to happen at the Wonder Festival on Sunday July 25th at 3:00PM. They apparently never changed the streaming dates on the website even though it obviously was changed due to the delays. It's likely we won't see the official stream for a few more days. I'm not really worried about the streaming delays, I pre-ordered Hobby Japan September issue so my copy should be arriving Monday or Tuesday :)! |
