| I would recommend starting with the 2006 anime, but I suppose having Sotsu as your first one could be an interesting experience though you'll miss a bunch of stuff. |

Part of the mystery in season 1 (06) is why they keep dying and reviving and how these stories are connected etc. it doesn’t all get explained till the second season (Kai) but yeah, keep watching, everything happens for a reason. |

| I love this thread Yeah, just like others said watch the S1 first then in order for u to understand but u still don't get it, I recommend you to watch more psychological anime/ read manga, Light novel or visual novel of that said genre so that u would get a gist of everything in that genre Not just gore but with psychological genre Also not just re:zero, try smthng like serial experimental lane, hakomari, steins gate, chaos head, umineko(connected to higurashi), monogatari series, or More so that u'll get used to connecting things and theories per ep/ch/scenes |

| Dude, somehow you managed to miss the prequel button on the main page of MAL. The first season aired more than 10 years ago. Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Sotsu is the 4th season of the Higurashi series. The Series go like this: - Higurashi - Higurashi Kai - Higurashi Gou - Higurashi Sotsu And let's not start with the fuck ton of OVAs, spin-offs and movie. btw, Higurashi's name in English is "Higurashi When They Cry", so you most likely already watched part of the first season on Netflix. Also, what you saw in the first 3 episodes is nothing compared to what Higurashi has done in the past. Rina's (The pink haired girl) dead at least was painless in this loop unlike the last time she met Rena I'm going to make a guess and say that you're young. Anime in the 80s and 90s was pretty brutal and there were still a few of them in the early 2000s. Even shounens were specially bloody at the time  Rina's past dead Red Scene from last season (BEWARE EXTREME GORE) |
