I don’t understand the statement.
Either I am too dumb or maybe you didn’t explain properly why it gave you those weird vibes.
It’s a Spin-off.
It’s a different interpretation (Miyuki’s POV) from the LN events with some SoL events that are not connected to the main series since many times Miyuki takes a back seat from whatever Tatsuya is doing.
It’s weird maybe because the artistic choice is very different from the other anime adaptations. It’s a different studio so it was expected.
The lights and saturation makes everything look more “girly” or more like a Shoujo vibe with their designs.
Aside to that the story should be kind of similar to what you are accustomed with the original.
Definitely not the best way to start Mahouka franchise though, being a spin-off and all but it’s entertaining.

I mostly meant the overwhelming siscon content, I suppose.
Otherwise yes, it's very much a Railgun in its own right. It did kinda get better by the end of the first episode, I guess.
The siscon part already weirded me out a bit in the main series, but here it was much more pronounced, since we are so focused on Miyuki.
Maybe I grew out of the trope, or something.

I can't stand that 50% of this show is Miyuki saying "onii-sama" in various tones while undressing. I've enjoyed allot of shows despite the fanservice (Railgun is awesome) but I get chills at this incest. Don't think I can keep going guys.

I mean, it's kind of a given that it would be very strongly inclined towards the siscon thing.

There's not really such a pronounced siscon thing in the LN's but it really don't matter since nothing even remotely "incest" is gonna be happening until many many volumes later, and still then it's just irrelevant.

At the pace of the original, its gonna take forever to get there so...

I love Honoka's and Shizuku's characters so I'm into the anime just for that. Also, it fits so nicely with LN's that I'm really liking the few explanations and little extra details.

Agreed. The whole "incest" crap is one of the only thing that lets me down about this series overall, like I just don't care how much Miyuki adores her brother just SHUT UP! Gosh it make her cute character more or less annoying.

I keep watching for any moment I can get of Tatsuya.

glad i saw this thread. i was already thinking i should probably skip this "spin off". but now that i know there's even more disgusting ass sibling love shit, i'm definitely not going to watch

that shit is just fucking weird. and it doesn't fit the overall story AT ALL

i LITERALLY had to fast forward through sibling love scenes in season 1 because it was so damn awful
