I know it's supposed to be funny how shamelessly similar this manga is to Harry Potter and maybe it was only for a chapter but he's also obviously taking advantage of it as a shortcut to create a world and characters.

Parodies tend to be tongue in cheek, they're either eyecatch cameos or altered enough to be their own thing while fans are able to recognize what it's a joke of. However, Mashle has used many Harry Potter characters and concepts for many chapters as if it's the series own world. Even using them seriously at times to develop the plot.

Characters who are clearly Dumbledore, Mcgonagall or Draco Malfoy. A sport that's clearly Quidditch and subjects include Divination, Magical Creatures, Dark Arts and even Potions.

Is this really okay? I'm wondering, would JK Rowling be able to sue this series?

JK Rowling won't give a shit. She'll be too busy with advocating for woke on some dumb shit.

But, I'll say that Mashle is border lining it when it comes to taking inspiration from the Harry Potter series. Personally, I don't mind. I don't think it's too offensive. It has enough of its Shounen clichés to it.

I don't think "Divination, Magical Creatures, Dark Arts and even Potions" in Mashle or any other manga is a form of plagiarism. If you've read a ton of isekai or fantasy manga, you'll find a lot of those things. Gotta say that the author was really asking for it when he copied Quidditch.

And I'm pretty curious as to why are you wondering if J. K. Rowling would be able to sue this series.

if JK rowling sue this, she himself would be open to be get trade mark lawsuit because it mean she claim ownership of any of those trope. i doubt she is dumber then you. this is as stupid as McD try to sue a small irish restaurant over use of "big mac".
