Is there a reason as to why both girls have similar names? Nana and Nanami

I've read this manga a couples in the past and recently finished rereading it again....lol but I noticed that both girls have very similar namea and would love if any of you have a theory or reasoning behind it. There is Nana who is referred to as Nana-san and Nanami who is referred to as Nana-chan by Yano.

I think this is just what her friends call her as a nickname, I don't think there's any deep meaning behind it
