| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I loved how Boon has changed his resolve after empathizing with Ochanomizu's attachment to Atom! It really moved me! It was interesting that Boon's repair unit was actually his own creation while Atom was not Ochanomizu's creation. Boon mentioning the unit repair was his child just as Atom was Ochanomizu's, sounded like a parallel with the love for a born child and that for an adopted child. What I liked in this respect was that the two loves were shown to be on the same level. |

| Wowza, I'm blown away by this episode. Definitely my favourite so far, it felt so cinematic. Easily could have been expanded to a two-parter or even a movie. I'm guessing the episode director Kazuo Yamazaki is mostly to thank for the episode being this good. He directed Five Star Stories, the 3rd and 4th Urusei Yatsura movies and a bunch more. Clearly he knows what he's doing. Gonna have to check out more of his works. |
