Ok so I am a person who doesn't let endings ruin shows for me. So subsequently a good ending of a shit show doesn't redeem it for being bad either. Like everyones favorite School Days for example. Just because

I always count it's journey. If I didn't enjoyed the journey I still won't like the anime even if the ending is good.

Nope, because I can't even see the ending of a trash since I drop trashes before even halfway of it. I'm no masochist.

I usually find that how good an ending is depends on how invested I have been in the characters and story.
But I did find that I really enjoyed K-On!!'s ending because I really enjoyed liked the characters even though I wasn't too invested in the show as a whole so I guess when it's done right I can look back at other moments in the show and enjoy it more.

No, if the show is trash but the ending is good, its still overall a trash in my opinion

If I consider it trash then I don’t even get to ending as I usually drop it,but in hypotetical rare case I do not and it really has good ending then I still say it is trash one good episode is not enough to redeem that show.

If it's trash, I probably wouldn't have even watched the ending.

If (I think) it's a trash show, I wouldn't get to the ending because I'd probably drop it, I'm not one of those people priding themselves on never dropping a series & choosing to suffer through 'em instead

If it’s trash I most likely won’t be seeing the ending to know

Never happened to me so far, so I would say that a good ending doesn't redeem a trash show.

If the anime was already trash, I most likely already stopped watching it. But lets say for some reason I did continue watching it. Probably not. If its trash I probably stopped caring about the anime so even if it had the best ending in anime I still would think its shit.

A bad ending for a amazing anime just makes me feel like I got shot in the heart because I loved the anime, then they don't give me an ending I feel good with. However, all that will probably do is make me lower the anime's rating by 1 score.

For example, Erased. Imo it was a 10 all the way through, the ending sucked so I gave it a 9.
I gave up on character of the week since it takes too much thinking. I'll just change my forum pfp to whoever I want every week lol.

A show's ending can only be derived from what led up to it.

So if the show is trash, there is no way the ending can be good.
Well I for one already loved Lain.

Yeah I had a lot of show that has a bad and cliche nonsense story but it did redeem itself in the ending like Needless, Punch Line, Little Busters!, Kekkai Sensen season 1, etc. I push through the story no matter how bored I was but I never regret it. The ending is good I felt good, it's like sitting through those boring episode made it worthwhile to see a good ending. I had a lot of patience, I even rewatch One Piece 1-500 when we got no internet for 2 Months 4 times. I'm proud to say I'm one of a kind.

To a point I would say it can save my experience of making it to the end. I mean if it's utter trash I won't have reached the end... but if it's something I didn't enjoy as much but stuck around to find the ending satisfying... yeah it can redeem itself for me. Not sure if you would consider that trash... but like it had a good start to make me at least interested... then the middle kind of wasn't interesting and pretty trash.... but the end can still save it.

It can raise the score and I can like the series more but as a whole, I think the bad aspects would still outweigh the ending so maybe not "redeem"

If that was the case then many would've said yes lmao.

For me it depends on how much trash the show is and how good the ending is. After all the ending is the last thing you see of the show so if it is good enough, it can really imprint a positive image on your mind (and vice versa).

For example, while Dragon Ball GT is not even close to the level of DB and not as good as DBZ, I still remember the ending of it through the sheer emotional impact it had (and I don't remember much else about it). I feel it managed to redeem the show to some degree as I've come to think of it as like the last spurt for the finish line. It doesn't matter if it's a bit ugly and rough, but it really brings the journey that started with DB to a nice close.

But if the show is on the level of, say, Boku no Pico or In Another World with My Smartphone, the ending will have to be some truly genre defining stuff with god level writing and direction to even remotely redeem anything that came before it. Or it has to be really balls-to-the-walls, holy-sh*t, crazy and funny, so you couldn't even expect it and it would remain in your memory thanks that unexpected craziness and therefore redeem some of what came before.

Never. A good ending never redeems a trash anime for me. Code geass is one such example.

There were some shitshows that had a pretty good ending for me, let alone even having a resonating message.
It generally doesn't redeem the show for me, but I could boost up my rating by 1 point. 2 points in very rare cases.
