Why does this anime switch studios every season?

The first two of the studios that made Date A Live got bankrupt. It's a good thing that JC Staff did season 3 but animation was a flop.

So the Chinese game developer Hot Game Studio (Date A Live: Spirit Pledge) funded most of the Date A Bullet movies. Geektoys animated them. And reviews say that the animation is better so they made it to be the season 4 animator. I just hope they can nail it this time esp they nerfed Tohka 😅.

It is a shame that not one studio can claim the show but the studios that did s1 and s2 went bankrupt so i understand that but J.C staff should’ve kept the show because they did a great job with season 3 but now we have this gross animation for season 4 by geektoys and it makes a hard core fan of the series like me sad to see this new gross animation because just from the promotional art Tohka looks the same as kurumi did in the movies just obviously with different color schemes and that makes me think that they are all gonna look the same. The art style worked for the movies but not for season 4 and I don’t understand why no one else is talking about it.

I tried the game... its a waste. It don't work properly and game stops working again and again.

The second season was transferred to IMS, as AIC recently was sold off of Aplix, and AIC transferred their production contracts to other studios. And Ougi Jiyu who left AIC, founded Production IMS, with AIC Spirits producer Yoshiyuki Matsuzaki, so production was transferred to them, as it is the same producers in charge. With IMS going bankrupt in 2018, all activities at the studio ceased, with the production committee then contracting J.C.Staff, as they were the only ones who accepted with the timeframe that they were given. With the poor reception of the J.C. adaptation, they then contracted GEEKTOYS.

Character designers tend to change when new studio takes over which is why Dal 3 also had a new one. Its just inconsistent no clue why they couldn’t just use the art style from S1 and 2

DAL III has the same design as the LN.

well the character design for season 3 was still good because it was adorable and J.C staff did a great job im just sad that they couldn’t take it now we have this unknown studio geektoys doing it and it looks awful because at least the art changes were subtle with each season but this art change is so drastic

Season 3 has bad animation, but if the animation because under-budget from production committee. We should sorry for JC Staff and thanks to them

am going to be honest altho i like Date a live...all the studio changes lead for the quality being all over the place....am not saying any season has bad animation...its just each studio has their own style of animating.....but some how they kept the same director for S1-S3

@argosaroso its funny how in actual story wise S3 is my Fav and man JC were already working on the Toaru series....and were about to do OPM i think they should have kept DAL3 for a summer[Jul-Sep] or fall[Oct-Dec] 2019 release instead of winter[Jan-Mar] 2019
