Both are very good and at the same level.
I have a bit more preference to JJK, because I like the main cast more.

JJK is better imo because it actually executes shounen tropes well. It's not a masterpiece or anything, but I'd personally give JJK a 6.5/10 and Demon Slayer a 5/10

In before this thread gets deleted...unless MAL Admins have now allowed "Versus" threads to exist.

How about....Both? Both are great in their respective way, both highly entertain me all the same, JJK for its action, characters and story. Demon Slayer for its action, character development and sympathy for the villains.

I honestly cannot fathom how people can stand Zenitsu. Dudes only trait is that he is loud and obnoxious.

Judging them both just of their respective 1st seasons alone, I would say Demon Slayer but just by a tiny bit though. They’re both amazing imho

Definitely Jujutsu Kaisen, less cliché and generic. Better story, and especially better characters.

Demon Slayer is good too though.

JJK manga > Demon Slayer manga

Demon Slayer got hard carried by Ufotable. MAPPA did elevate the early arcs of JJK, but JJK’s content is a lot more interesting than Demon Slayer going forward. The fights and characters of JJK are also far better.

I like Demon Slayer more but Jujutsu Kaisen has the potential to surpass some of the all-time greats tbh. Can't wait for season two of both series, which ultimately will be an improvement on the prequels.

Yes, they're all important things as well... But the most important thing is responsibility for your own actions.

I preferred jjk quite a bit. The main cast were much more likable, and the plot more consistently interesting (I found the first 15 episodes of DS to be pretty mediocre tbh). Overall I would give jjk a 7.5/10, and demon slayer a 5.5/10.

I think Demon Slayer is excellent, I gave it a 9/10; JJK is great, I gave it a 8/10. I loved both shows but Demon Slayer touched and moved me more. I also believe Demon Slayer is a show that its memory fades less with time. Its soundtrack was also clearly better. As for the art of the two shows it was different but equally great.

Sure, because the meme of Zenitsu, or the plot device pet character of Nezuko or the yelling machine of Inosuke had so much character development.... in just season 1 JJK main cast feels more fleshed out.

Demon Slayer and Jujutsu Kaisen are the same thing.
Both are average animes overhyped because of high animation quality, that's the truth.

I would say the opposite is more true. Enjoyment is relative but Kimetsu's climax was episode 19/20. It had a lot of quiet periods which while not boring did kill the pacing somewhat for a season finale.

Jujutsu has much better storyline and characters. And there are some nice plot twists in Jujutsu. In Kimetsu no yaiba Everything follows one pattern: demon, fight, training, stronger demon, fight, training ... and so to the end of the manga which ended badly.Jujutsu has intriguing, well-written characters: Geto, Gojou, Megumi, Sukuna, Toji etc. In Kny We have Inosuke quivering non-stop, even louder Zenitsu, Nezuko, who is something like a "cute" mascot with bamboo in her mouth and, as it turns out, an antagonist who was painfully boring.

jujutsu kaisen is better than demon slayer, but only for personal taste. I hate extended fights in which while fighting, the protagonist hits the villain and he says "what could he hit me? I'll have to be careful with him, I must not underestimate him" and then he hits and the protagonist also has a thought that is the same. In jujutsu even if this happens, they think more about a tactic of how to hit instead of thinking about how good the opponent is, and they are faster and more entertaining.

Preferred JJK's animation and art from MAPPA, but after S1 of each respective show, Demon Slayer has a more interesting story, whilst JJK has the better, slightly less tropey characters.

However, in between their respective action set-pieces, some of the episodes were slow, turgid affairs that felt like filler and padding until the next big action sequence.

There isn't much between them, though. They're both high 7, low 8/10 shows.

Togashi has his issues, Kubo does too. Gege idolizing them doesn’t change that. Gege also has negatives in his manga. But I’d argue that Gege delivers a lot more on the side of fight choreography and power usage than the other 2 mentioned which makes the read at times more enjoyable. The overall story of JJK keeps getting better too (which wasn’t too strong at first). We’ll see how he wraps it up in 2-3 years.

And HxH > S1 of JJK

But S2 of JJK can be up there.

JJK needs some analytical and logical thinking with its powers or curse techniques

Both anime’s as a whole right now? JJK was more well rounded and better as a complete package. People got so blinded by how amazing episode 19 was of Kimetsu no Yaiba that they can’t admit that before that point the show was a solid shonen but nothing truly special. Saying all that Kimetsu no Yaiba hasn’t even hit its peak yet, and with the Red Light District getting animated its only gonna get better. (Until the last arc in which it turns to shit lul)

Whatcha mean by power usage? HxH has a much better constructed and well defined power system with abilities that further characterize their users.

I think JJK is closer in quality to YYH than it is HxH, which makes sense considering both were their author’s first big works. Would say YYH has the solidly better character writing (Gege himself admitted Getou not having the pull Sensui did) while JJK has the better choreography and slightly better plotting.
