Is it recommended to watch season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul and ditch the remaining seasons?

Season 1 of TG seems very compelling, but all the remaining seasons received a lot of criticism. I’m not willing to watch the remaining 36 mediocre episodes, even if the first season is good. So, is it possible to exclusively watch the first season without missing out on important conclusions in the story? Or will I leave S1 on a massive cliff hanger with lots of unanswered questions?

I’ll probably not read the manga, because that would be too much of an investment.

S1 ends with a very satisfying fight but you will be left wondering which faction wins in the end.

So wait, ur not willing to read the manga, but ur content with watching only the first season and not the rest? At this point, stop being a meme and don't watch it at all.

Not a cliffhanger, no. But it does end in a place where it'll make you want to keep watching to see what happens next.

Regardless of how you feel about the end of Season 1 however, I'd tell you to stay away from the rest of the seasons, because they are absolute trash. If in the future you happen to change your mind, read the manga which is actually really good. Because just watching Season 1 and not continuing the story would be a waste.

There is the whole read the manga, I watched it, season 1 was good but the rest felt out of place, I plan on reading the manga a friend says it makes it so much more enjoyable, if you're not willing to read then that is a loss for you unfortunately

The first season still cuts a lot of content. The ideal way to experience Tokyo Ghoul is to read the manga but the first season is fine. Not good but not bad like the seasons after

Read manga.

Watch Anime, I can't comprehend how you're thinking about watching 1 season and ignor the rest.

I know it's a stereotypical thing to say, but the manga really is the way to go.
I can't even function as a human being anymore.

No, i'm afraid not.

Yes, i'm afraid so.

TG Season 1 is pretty cool and all, but yes, both the (mostly) non-canon Root A and TG:re adaptation really are pretty bad and i wouldn't recommend them by any stretch, even if the latter does manage to bring things to a definitive conclusion, albeit at a lightning rush pace.

My honest opinion: if you're not willing to read the manga (which i intend to do eventually), or sit through the later anime Seasons for the sake of closure, then you're probably better off not bothering to start TG at all.

It's not like even season 1 is good. Season 2 does have its dramatic moments, but it becomes increasingly hard to justify Kaneki's actions; he just seems like one of those depressive teenagers going through a phase. Like the whole tension could have been solved with a conversation, but no, he's too broody and edgy to see a damn therapist.

But yeah, if you want to, watch the first season. And infer the rest with your imagination. Trust me. Whatever you come up with won't be that far off from the actual conclusion. What is Kaneki's motivation for his actions? What does he really want? Who is the main protagonist? You could guess the overall direction of season 2 before you even start watching it.

Ok, even though responses are mixed on this issue, I’ve decided to watch it. I wanna see what the hype is all about surrounding this anime anyway.

Well Tokyo ghoul S1 was fantastic imo. S2 was also good, tho a lot of people hate it. For me, it was Re that was the ultimate downfall. Never have I ever been so dissapointed while watching anime.

Best bet, if you really liked the first season, go for the second one. If you are satisfied then it's ok. If not there's always the manga. Just don't watch Re.

Bruh...

TG vA > TG first season

Tokyo Ghoul vA was only hated because manga fanboys were butthurt about the anime original ending. Nonetheless, it was pretty awesome & definitely underrated.

The first season is the only good season, s2 is bad, s3 is trash and s4 is cardi b.

I haven't read the manga yet and I know I am not going to read it because the anime made me lose all my interests.

So dont watch the remaining seasons, just go read the manga if u wish
