My preference, which is probably insane to most people:

1. Demon's Souls
2. Dark Souls
3. Dark Souls II
4. Dark Souls III
5. Sekiro
6. Bloodborne

Didn't think too long about the last few. I just dislike how FromSoftware now tries to live up to "prepare to die" and the expectation of being really punishing. It didn't feel forced with the first few Souls games.

The best game they created would have to be "Elden Ring."

That game is really something.

Bloodborne

The style and atmosphere really drew me in. The gameplay and combat mechanics are great too.
Boss designs and lore were next level . The story was also my favourite among soulsborne games.

I don't think this is insane at all, like what makes you even think that? In fact, I think most people I've seen online on Reddit and MAL have shared this exact same list (if anything, Bloodborne can end up in different spots but otherwise it's the same).

Armored Core 3 without question. Armored Core 2 being the next contender but the engine update between the games really gives an edge to the later title.

As for reasons, solid levels of customization that don't feel intrusive or janky, heavily rewarding players for resource management and general skill at the titles. But not being frustratingly difficult if you can manage either of those aspects.

Obviously demon's souls, dark souls trilogy, bloodborne, sekiro and kuon!
Ps. Wish I have played Echo Night because it's so interesting.

@RokudoRena, Echo Night was very unique and interesting! No one takes risks and makes games like before.

From Software learned their lesson of unsuccessful and ahead of the time games. Luckily people weren't that dumb this time to ignore pure masterpiece as soul series.

Bloodborne

Even miyazaki said it's his personal favorite project he's worked on.

Dark souls 1 for the nostalgia is nice as well.

But so many people think Dark Souls II is dogshit and Bloodborne is godly, and many think very little of Demon's Souls.

I've completed DS1 and 3 multiple times but I'm not sure about the second game. The boss with the rats put me off. I have Bloodborne on ps4 but I have yet to play it. I'm trying to get a ps5 to get the remaster of demon souls.

My ranking of the ones I've played would be something like:

-Bloodborne
-Echo Night
-Dark Souls 1
-Evergrace
-Dark Souls 3
-Dark Souls 2
-King's Field 1 JP

I've played a bit of Sekiro, and extremely want to play Demon's Souls, but this is just what it is for now

The general opinion from what I’ve seen is:
1. Bloodborne
2. Dark souls
3. Sekiro
4. Dark souls 3
5. Demon souls
6. Dark souls 2
(Demon souls and sekiro are a bit more all over the place though, and for a general rule bloodborne is the most liked, darks souls 2 is least liked (minus DLC))

My opinion:
1. Bloodborne
2. Sekiro (very close to bb)
3. Dark souls 3
4. Dark souls 2 (Would be below ds1 if not for dlc)
5. Dark souls 1
(Haven’t played demon souls)

That's not really the case at all as far as I know. Demon's Souls is widely considered to be one of, if not the best in the franchise. Even when you search up the scores on Gamespot or Metacritic, it's the highest in the entire series (user score wise). And then second place obviously must be Dark Souls. Now admittedly Bloodborne and DS2 always varies differently on every list, which is why I just don't feel like it's insane at all wherever they're placed (except if they put DS2 above 1 and Demon's). Still, one of the most popular opinions in Soulsborne subreddits is DS1>2>3. And then you have one of the worst one which is Sekiro.

Idk but I've seen this kind of list so many times now that I just don't think it's that insane. In fact, I find it quite a common stance. Personally, I share the exact same list (except for Bloodborne and DS2 coz I haven't played those).

It doesn't matter if you like LoGH,Monster etc.If you are a jobless or college/school dropout living in your mom basement, you are still an unintelligent loser. Taste in anime does not make you a better person.

It's so hard for me to choose between Dark Souls 1, Bloodborne and Sekiro. I need to re-play Dark Souls 3 sometime to see how I feel about it now too.

I might go with Bloodborne for now. The aesthetic is super cool and I love the more aggressive combat.

With Soulsborne games, I've only ever managed to beat Dark Souls 1 and Dark Souls 2 (excluding DLC). I'm currently stuck on the final boss of Dark Souls 3 and the final boss of Sekiro (Shura ending). Also stuck on a boss halfway into Bloodborne. Never played Demon's Souls (2009) or any other FromSoftware games (and isn't Kuon supposed to be really rare and expensive?).

So between Dark Souls 1 and 2, I think Dark Souls 1 might be the best. Dark Souls 2's Ring of Restoration and lifegems sort of broke the game for me. I also don't like how Dark Souls 2 has no blood in it (or backstabs). Dark Souls 1 had cooler bosses too, though I didn't like how 3 of the bosses were the same (Asylum Demon, Stray Demon, and Demon Firesage).

It's so difficult for me to choose among Dark Souls 1, Bloodborne and Sekiro. I need to re-play Dark Souls three sometime to see how I sense approximately it now too. I might go together with Bloodborne for now to recognize with Unified Communications. The aesthetic is exquisite cool and I love the greater competitive fight.

No idea why my post appeared twice.

No interest in souls.games and I think their other games are more interesting personally. While not played any of their games really other than Tenchu Shadow Assassin (which they published in one region not developed).

I think the Echo Night horror game trilogy are really creative and well done on PS1/2. Not played their tactics or Jrpg games either but they maybe some some good things about them.

Even Armoured Core seems good having played Front Mission Evolved and considering Mech games besides Battle Engine Acquila (western mech game).
