This one tells the story floor by floor without time skip. It has amazing world building and explaination of the game mechanics and skills. Kirito and Asuna are being characterized in a very good way and so their relationship. There are new interesting characters. It’s a lot better than first Aincrad.

Jesus Christ are they *really* going floor by floor for all 70 some they completed? No way.

In no way will this anime be made and not do something with the episode count, pacing, etc. that will please the readers of the novels. Somehow, someway, they will say they fucked it up and will begin bitching about it.

This is what I wanted... MORE AINCRAD and MORE Kirito x Asuna character development without all the side distractions from Sinon and his sister.. They just soured the romance and stunted Asuna's character growth and her importance to Kirito as they wanted the soft harem touch... They did that even more harshly in Alicization with introducing Alice, even though I like Alice but the romance between Asuna and Kiroto is loosing its charm "progressively" in recent seasons... Asuna was basically nothing in alicization arc and was reduced to a side chracter kind of... Finally back to basics!

I am apprehensive but hopeful for this adapt, the original SAO had a lot of wasted potential, hopefully this series can bring that potential to life.

SAO Progressive is getting an anime. Progressive is NOT a reboot. It's a retelling of the original story and it fills the timeskips and retcons some outdated stuff.Just to clarify the day shown in the trailer is not the release date. November 6 2022 is the release date of Sword Art Online ( the actual game)

I was really looking forward to this for a long time. I wanted to know how Asuna heard about the online game for the first time and all the details and moments we missed in the season one after Kirito left here and how she joined her team and became "Lightning Flash" knight.

As long as they don't rush this one and not fill it with unimportant side events, this will be great. There is vast potential to be adapted, showing the adventures of Kirito and his various temporary acquaintances, but especially him and Asuna.

All of this goes without saying that I hope they won't reuse too much past assets and be lazy. Some snippets of frames are tolerable, OSTs is alright tho.

I hope Yui doesn't get too much screen time as a plot device for bonding between Kirito and Asuna. else im gonna puke

Finally!!! I'm way happy that people on the production noticed that world building is what makes a show go from good to superb!
Cof...cof...Hope more studios notice this...

i Loved the feeling Aincrad gave me in the beginning, a full serie around that is going to be awesome!
I want to believe there's not much space for error now so....let's hope a good director, studio and production comes along and make it nice as possible!!

If we are to see Yui, it's prob gonna be in something like 20 years.

In most cases, the MAL Average Scores don't mean anything, here is a question: were the works made before 2000 all shit?
Why are they so damn scarce in the Top 50? Think about how MAL is quite literally a filtered amount of the Anime fanbase.

Here's a timeline of the Top 15 in which you can check that, almost always, the scores are affected by the freshness, popularity and other factors that have nothing to do with quality.

The novel is only at the 5th floor, so prob 5 episodes for each, and I even think it's a low amount for each floor, there's a lot of content.
