If the anime page shows this "Episodes: 0/?", then the finished date won't be auto added because MAL will keep moving that anime to your PTW list until the anime finishes airing. The symbol "?" means that MAL doesn't know how many eps that entry will have. | @hacker09 Hey, I've been using this script for a while now but it hasn't been working for about a week. Is there a solution to this ? It displays the date but it doesn't automatically add them for anime or manga. |
| @TitanInsane I've also noticed that. For now I'm just reloading the page and moving my mouse, then waiting like 2 secs to see if the dates will de displayed or not, if they are displayed after doing these steps it means that they were correctly added. If not just click again on watching or completed and the the script will work. I'm not sure yet if this is a problem on MAL or on my script, but I will look this ASAP, and if the problem is on my script I will update it! |

| @TitanInsane I haven't really changed anything in the add start/dates part, but I've updated the script and it's seems to be working 100% of the time now... But maybe MAL is working perfectly right now, so that's why the script worked?... I'm not sure, so please install the update and do some tests. If anything doesn't work well, tell me what and give me the link were something didn't work well. |

| @Lightstylez The script is not supposed to add dates when you add an anime to your list. Please read the script description carefully, it only set the completed and watching dates. Select watching and the start date will be set, that's all. 1 add an anime to your list 2 reload the page 3 set the anime to watching 4 the script does its job and adds the start date |

| @ShaggyZE Their latest android app works like my script, but I don't usually use the app to keep track of animes anyway, also being obligated to remember to use the app all the time and not the web version sucks. If I were a normal user I would also keep using this script anyway just to make sure I don't lose this precious data information. |

Shishio-kun tried to create a topic suggestion where a couple devs would keep an extension on chrome store, all mal had to do is tell users to use it, it would be a dark mode extension, but it got 100% ignored. |

| @TEST039358384368 If it's a movie/entry with a single episode yes. Marking it as completed will add start and watching date as the day you clicked on completed. This is very good for short ovas,specials and musics, and ALSO GOOD FOR MOVIES. Nobody really watches a 2 hour movie in a couple days, it's usually "sit to watch the movie until it ends" kind of thing that most people do. No, if you open an entry/movie (WITH MORE THAN 1 episode) then click on + once the script will auto set it as watching and will auto add the starting date, then after a couple days or how long you want, you can go back and click again on + to mark it as completed. The script will add the watching date (a couple days ago for example) and will add the today's date (the completed date). |

That is because add_manga%5Bnum_read_chapters%5D= add_manga%5Bnum_read_volumes%5D= end up having the value of ? and it breaks the add finish date request, I will try to figure out what is happening... |

I have a lot of anime that I have previously completed without dates on them, and I'd like to go through and set them for the date I started my account (September 30, 2008). The script didn't expect a user to set a publishing manga as complete since it is publishing... So it did not add the finished date in this specific situation for publishing entries

| @hacker09 Thanks for the fix, it works fine...but I found another bug. When I complete manga and the script add finished date, after F5, read chapters are removed and for example, when I had 125 chapter for oshi no ko it was set to 0 out of current 125 chapters. There isn't any problems with manga that are set as completed or on hiatus by MAL. I checked if it's not from any other scripts or from MAL itself, but I'm pretty sure it's that one causing this bug Anyway, thanks for your work |
| @srejsuk "Oshi no Ko" Status: Publishing Current amount of chapters and volumes for Status: Publishing mangas are 0 and 0, so yes it ignores whatever you think is the right amount of chapters and volumes for them. Also, most users likely guess the total chapters and volumes wrong anyway... Status: Publishing mangas actually shouldn't be marked as completed anyway, because I bet MAL does the same thing it does with anime, Many users mark an airing anime as completed, then without knowing that MAL doesn't allow that, (and MAL automatically puts the completed entry back to PTW) they go to the support board saying that it is a bug. Doesn't MAL also do that same thing for mangas anyway? I guess I could fix it easily, but it is not really worth it anyway, because after it finishes publishing, it would be a good idea to go back on that manga entry and check the correct amount of chapters and volumes |
