| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- I loved Giant Robo (from the nineties) so was super hyped go get into this. Though I haven't seen the original Tetsujin one can tell that it's playing off of nostalgia. I'm very interested in the post-WW2 Japan construction period. Particularly, when it showcases the ingenuity and ideas (at least metaphorically) that allowed the nation to thrive. |

| The one that inspired Akira's character names. The unfinished Tokyo Tower, symbolising Japan's economic progress got wrecked by a WWII relic. I forgot so much about this series I left incomplete in the 2010s. I'm glad to see this Ocean-dubbed series rescued. |
