| I'd watch the 2016 series first and then read the manga. Or yeah, I guess you could read the manga first and then start the 2016 series. If you don't mind reading the same stuff, right after you've watched it. But seriously, the 2016 series has such divided opinions, but I'm 5 episodes in and loving it. There's only been one episode so far where the 3D CGI stuff bugged me, but other than that it's pretty good (imo). The music is banging and stuff really starts off with action right away. Edit: I've finished the 2016 series and it is awesome. If you're a Berserk fan, you should watch it and decide for yourself. In my opinion, the complaints are very overexaggerated. The music is awesome, the action is awesome. Anyways, you can read my opinions in the episode discussions. But go watch it! It's 12 episodes, so there's no excuse. |

| I find stories like Berserk to be best experienced in chunks over a long period of time. If I were you, I would take a break from Berserk for a while. When it is time, you can start reading the manga. It will make you feel more attached to the characters and their stories as you have known them longer. Also, as other people have said, you shouldn't skip any of the manga. |
