| So I watch one anime movie a week. I do so on one of my days off and I do so because its both fun and this is how I trick my unfocused ass to watch a 2 hour movie once a week. lol Im kinda stuck in the mud about what to watch though. I dont want to watch a movie that belongs to an anime like Gintama because Ive accidentally watched the movie before the series twice by mistake and had to watch the series in case I missed something. If anyone has any suggestions Id be really, really happy and thankful! Also sorry for asking for recommendations two days in a row! Thanks! |

| Omoide Poroporo, Sennen Joyuu, SayoAsa, and Koe no Katachi are amazing dramas. Akira and Paprika are epic movies in the action/thriller genre. Also recommend Kaguya-hime and Mary to Majo no Hana (and anything else by Ghibli directors). |
| I'm gonna count longer one-off OVAs as well for this list. Not all of these hit the 2 hour mark, but they're all fairly enjoyable Aru Zombie Shoujo no Sainan Asagao to Kase-san. Black Magic M-66 Gall Force (it's technically the start of an anime movie series, but the story is contained and fulfilling on its own) Genmu Senki Leda Mass Effect: Paragon Lost Expelled from Paradise They're part of a larger franchise, but Gundam F91 and Thunderbolt are both self-contained movies with brand new original casts that don't require any context or franchise investment to enjoy |
