So I'm 23 years old and I find that unless I rewatch my favourite shoujo anime from my teen years, I can't think of anything else to watch. That was until I watched Devil's Line. The romance in this show was mature and didn't copy the typical tropes you find in romance shows targeted at women. Anzai, the male love interest, isn't some broody cool guy and he's also not the flirtatious playboy who is misunderstood and only the female lead can change them. Devil's line, I feel, may not be original in its plot around humans and vampires co-exisiting, however, I do find that the romance was so original and had me so interested that I honestly think its the best romance anime I've watched this year. A shame the series isn't longer and that its ending was quite abrupt. Besides that I've been watching non-romantic animes like the promised Neverland and psycho pass as I find most romance anime nowadays is for the male audience, and I'm getting tired of the slim selection for women which seems a little boring to me.

Sorry for the waffle, but I'm basically on the hunt for mature and interesting romances that is for a young woman like myself. recommendations please.

You're looking for the "josei" demographic, which sadly is least well represented in anime.

The list in that link surprisingly omits Nodame Cantabile, a story about students in their early twenties attending a college-level classical music conservatory. It's one of my favorites.

You might also want to take a look at the four short stories adapted in the anthology Otona Josei no Anime Time. They cover a range of emotions.

Fune wo Amu has a bit of adult romance, but the story focuses primarily on the creation of a new Japanese dictionary.

REC is, I believe, seinen, but it might have some appeal anyway. It's a comedy about an aspiring voice actress and a salaryman. It's all on YouTube:

Josei usually gets greenlit as j-dramas sadly. You might be better off reading manga like Totsuzen desu ga Ashita Kekkon Shimasu.

Here is my rec, male POV though:
