| +1 to Grave of the Fireflies, Koe no Katachi, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, Angel Beats, Anohana and Ima, Soko ni Iru Boku. My biggest rec for you would be White Album 2, as it deals with many of the same issues as YLIA, especially music, but is a little more grounded in reality and the ending is still one of the most powerful scenes i've seen in any anime. | I'm surprised no one has mentioned https://myanimelist.net/anime/13655/Little_Busters and https://myanimelist.net/anime/18195/Little_Busters__Refrain yet. While Little Busters in itself is sad, its sequel is just sublime with one of the most powerful scenes ever imo. Seriously, try it. I promise you won't regret it. |
