| Because people that don't like a series are more likely to seek out others that dislike it as well compared to those that like it seek out others that like said show. The anime fanbase in general can feel very forgiving, since many people just watch anime for the aesthetic, so when you find an anime you dislike, it can feel like you're in a very small minority, with the exception of the big shows everyone hates like SAO. That's my take on it. I used to be a huge contrarian years ago, and that's how I felt back then. |
