Do Anime Characters Secretly Lie About Their Age?

I've watched my fair share of anime and noticed that sometimes when I see an elder man or woman they're actually really young but don't look like it, it also happens with young characters but the opposite as in they're way older than they lead on.

Example: Yoko Littner (looks 18 years old though that's not what the anime states her age is at all) Don't get me started with Jotaro Kujo teehee.

I really don't even take age into consideration anymore, plus it really doesn't matter.

Seems like a lot of characters are a complete mind-fuck when it comes to their actual age.

yoko is 14 and tbh I know plenty of girls that have the same body as her or at least similar

the real example you could give is jotaro lmfao

No, they don't lie. Only some girls in their 20s will say they're 15 or so because all Japanese are lolicons. Yoko is 14.

I learned that in a lot of the anime. Have 25 or more, you are older. While in real life it's like starting to live. And the characters do not seem to be the age they say.

The best comparisons is between Jotaro and the Loli teacher from Toaru series lmfao

If a child can become an adolescent and another can not while being a teen then same should goes for fictional characters

At first I thought you meant like... examples of anime characters who actually like to lie about their age. Cause all I can say is... Hazuki Shizuku.

The fact that Umiko-kun knows her age doesn't seem like she could be 500 years old like vampires and what not hihi. (based on her height and reactions towards her age being found out and knowing how to prevent it from being told shows that she's in her twenties around 22-25 teehee) Hint: Umiko's 25 years old beating Hazuki by one centimeter in height hence my ultimate guess is that she's 24.

The characters themselves don't lie, but writers and mangaka have no concept of age. You routinely see characters who look like clear adults say they are teenagers and you also occasionally find lolis who are actually adults.

What's the difference?

Most of them use the vampire / demigod methods to bypass these things from my fair share of watching animu hihi.

I wasn't referring to those types of lolis. I was mainly talking about characters like that teacher in Index, the mother in Masamune-kun's Revenge (or whatever the fuck that show was called), and that loli college student in Blend S.

Either way, children looking like adults is far more common in anime than the other way around.

When I first started watching anime I tried to make sense of their ages and then I gave up after watching Okusama Ga Seitokai Kaichou.

No, they don't. They answer honestly about the age given to them by the author.
Do the authors secretly lie about the ages of their characters?.. ehh, it's possible.
You're never too old to watch anime.
If I ever stop watching anime, check my pulse I'm likely dead.

I wake up with coffee & anime, I go to sleep with coffee & anime.

Sorry if my sarcasm is bad, it's not my first language.
