Yes! It's confirmed season 2 will start airing in July 2019! I'm glad we don't have to wait over a year. And I agree with Quan Zhi Gao Shou!

It’s not that complicated really! It’s Wei Wuxian dying and getting revived in the body of Mo Xuanyu but after the first episode we go back in time 20 years so we can see what all happened that led Wei Wuxian to his dead and him becoming the Yiling Patriarch! All episodes are just things that happened in his life as Wei Wuxian and in the last episode we all see a glimpse again of Wei Wuxian as Mo Xuanyu!

You might need to re-read the flashback scenes. I'm up-to date with the novel (they released chapter 76 just today), and so far, everything in season 1 of the anime has been mentioned in the novels (the flashback parts, I mean.) In the novel, WWX's past is told in parts while in the anime, as you probably saw, almost everything is put together so they don't confuse people with so many time changes.

They also could have added some extra scenes from chapter 64+, but I don't remember right now. Just keep reading, everything will be clear.

About the hype... HELL YES! I can't wait either. It was amazing! And that music... It was so damn beautiful ;o;

I am way more than excited! It's so good to know that we'll be getting season just next year and possibly even on June! Times flies fast so I'm very excited, Mo Dao Zu Shi has been my favorite novel for a year now so it's really been a ride to reread it again and again and then when I heard that they will be doing an animation of it, I was over the moon because of that news! And now that its already out and the second season will be starting soon, it's just all over the place and crazy, I really had high hopes for the anime and it even seem to surpass my expectations even more when I kept watching it! They really did a great job, it really deserves to be one of THE BEST anime of 2018 and hopefully season 2 will be the same as well in 2019, I can't wait to see more of Wuxian and Wangji moments in season 2 because season 1 was all about Wuxian's past and how the story started 20 years ago, though season 1 didn't exactly follow the storyline of how it happened both in the novel and the manhua, I liked the idea of how they wanted the audience to understand the past of Wuxian and the four clans alongside the Wen clan, and how Wuxian started to go through the path of demonic cultivation, rather than how in the novel and the manhua where Wuxian would start to have some flashbacks in middle of their journey, season 2 will be fire! I really hope they'll put that one particular scene that is one of my favorite moments of Wuxian and Wangji together, can't spoil it due to some people who hasn't read the novel yet, but it's really one of my favorite moments of them and I think it'll make us go all over the place if it actually gets to be in the anime, which they hopefully will do, everyone I really recommend you to read the novel, it's a really good novel that'll make you feel a lot of emotions and feels all in one, and the story of Wuxian and Wangji together and how Wangji went through 13 years of waiting for his loved one to come back is just even more emotional, I'm glad that it all ended up happy in the end of the story.
