| What a desperate yet unlucky try to reference past Gainax works. Somewhat similar structure to FLCL, a reference to Diebuster (maid Jinyu splitting a plate in half just like Nono did), etc. Yet it had zero impact on me, not even close to absolutely bombastic ep1 of FLCL. Everything is inferior, from scene execution, to trying to appeal to nostalgia by using the same track of The Pillows, to the ED. Sad. Though I'm not even slightly surprised given that I was never expecting it to outdo the original, especially after the uncovered story about how these guys ditched Anno and went to direct the sequels with completely unrelated people just because they offered them more money. But the worst thing is changing Haruko's design (hair color!!!) and seiyuu. Replacing such an iconic voice is a total blasphemy. Weird how Haruko's original seiyuu appeared in Alternative, but not in Progressive. Megumi Hayashibara is a good seiyuu, don't misunderstand me. She's just not Haruko. That's all. Well, at least I can hear Miyuki Sawashiro voicing Jinyu. Oh, and according to ANN, this show has eight directors. EIGHT DIRECTORS. |

| Hidomi is hella cute! She's so my type! I will happily devour her like a zombie! The animation quality is quite good too! I like the sudden art style change about 3/4 into the show. I love the OST. What a bizarre and trippy show, but it's quite funny and interesting. In the end, it's a weird romance story. |
| I've been putting off this one for awhile because i saw so many people hating on it but, i really enjoyed it. |
