I visited Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima and Nara. I liked Kyoto best for the mix of modern and traditional styles. Tokyo was definitely worth a visit as well though :3

Welcome! I'm also Japanese, and I do visit Japan every summer to visit my grandparents. It's really nice there, except for the fact that it was super hot there when I last visited a few weeks ago.

Sounds great! I like Kyoto, too. It is the one of the most famous place for many animes.

Hello, are you basically living in US? As of yet, unfortunately the temperature has been keeping in high. So exhausting every day by the incredible heat ;_)

Hello, MAL isn't so popular in Japan because most of Japanese anime fans have language barriers. I usually don't walk around the anime bbs in Japan, but I would say the most popular one is "Anico-Bin" which roughly means Anime fans Express.

Yeah I live in the U.S., specifically in Florida(which is known to be pretty hot)

No problem lol I have been making an effort to watch a variety of eras. I think its kinda interesting to see how far the medium has come or changed over time.

I actually live in Kawasaki, but it's only a 5 minute walk to Tokyo.

Thank you! No issues for not having Japanese blood. Animation is the common word all over the world. Old Japan animes got a lot from American animes, and it's now Japan anime's turn. I strongly believe good interactions by talking about past and future animes will bring us better paradigm of new animes.

Well, before adding someone to my friend list, I usually talk with people, at least 20-30 exchanged comments. And I also delete people from my list if they don't keep in touch with me.

Since you're Japanese, I have a few things that I always wanted to ask.

1. How is anime/manga primarily watched/read in Japan? As a Westerner, access to cheap anime is difficult and the huge majority stream/read pirated copies. I would assume that it is more difficult to pirate anime in Japan since it's its native country. So do people buy anime and manga?

2. Are portrayals of schools in anime/manga accurate to real-life Japan?

3. Is it true that blonde hair and blue eyes are a highly desired trait in Japan?
