Waypoints: Phase 1 | Phase 2 | Phase 3 | Phase 4 | Phase 5 | Phase 6 | Phase 7 | Phase 8 | Phase 9 | Phase 10 | Phase 11 | Phase 12 | Phase 13 | Phase 14 GAME END  Hide and Seek is a slow-paced, PM-centered game. It is not a very psychological nor strategic game and shouldn't be taken too seriously. Luck plays the biggest part here. The title of the game tells you the basic goal: players must hide while others hunt them down. However, there are specifics. Flow of the game The game is separated into phases, which last 24 hours in real time. During each phase: - A new “seeker” is randomly chosen and announced in the thread. It is possible that a player seeks two or more times in a row. - All other players are “hiders” (for that phase at least). - Players send in their game-related actions to me through PMs.
Roles There are 15 roles in the game, but only 10 players. 5 roles will be unused, and the players will not know which player has which role unless they choose to disclose it in the thread. The map The game map is a 4x3 grid (12 squares total). There are various elements on the map, but they are all kept secret from the players, otherwise some roles would hold an unfair advantage. These elements include: 3 water squares | 3 mountains squares | 3 desert squares | 3 plains squares 3 squares with a house | 3 squares with a farm
To give you an idea, open the spoiler button under here for an example map with visible elements (not the actual game map). During the game, the elements will not be visible to the players. | just to be nitpicky EST is not even being used right now. Eastern US uses EDT in the summer. |
| Knowing your current time in UTC should be standard knowledge anyway. It makes properly communicating times between people from different time zones the easiest. Also, we are at 8 people now. Are we going to wait for two more? 8 does sound like a good number too |
| I hate when people use British Summer Time instead of UTC/GMT. I think the tatsumaki bot uses that and it confuses me. |

| The hiders can work well together if they combine their roles to good effect. I'll look into more interesting combinations later, as this seems to be an important part regarding the hiders' shared strategy decisions. |
| @Mishukax If one of the roles who are immune on certain squares (and cannot hide in the same square twice) gets redirected to another square, are they informed about that? Since if not, they might want to visit that redirected square later on and then suddenly get told that they can't, which could throw their strategy for a loop. |
| PMs and hidden conversation doesn't seem to be forbidden, which can thus build an interesting part of the hider's overall strategy to survive the current phase. Let's assume for example that the Beast Player is in the game. She can send her Beast to B2 (and tell that either here openly or to other hiders in PMs) and thus basically creates a safe zone. The King can then visit B2 too in order to save his skill, the Magician can do the same in order to save her skill, the Child actively wants to visit such a square too, the Overseer can make B2 part of her decision as well, the Silvertongue, if playing for the team, can make B2 the choice of his skill, the Achiever could want to try B2 too, etc. The fact that not all roles are part of the game makes for interesting mind games, and I'm looking forward to seeing which seeker can prevail. Just some sense of strategy, to counteract people like Arden who say that the RNG in this game makes it boring or pointless, something I can't agree with |

There is no mystery for any player as to where they have truthfully hidden. They know if they ever get redirected. |
