Assuming this is about shows, I would say Ouran high school host club. Which was because my friend was OBSESSED with it and even though I'm not a girly person, it sparked an interest in me.

But if this isn't just shows, I watched Kiki's Delivery Service when I was very little.

The first one I allowed myself to watch was Inuyasha... before that I was kinda a snob when it came to anime... I didn't like it because I had never watched it. I've since learned better then to judge a book by it cover....

speed racer, battle of the planets, astroboy, COPS and many others I was watching in the 1980's, pokemon and so forth I started watching in the 1990's though there were alot of repeats happening as well
..

Mine's either DBZ, Pokemon or Sailor moon (Whichever aired in England First, I don't remember exactly..)

The first anime I watched knowing that I was watching anime was Ouran High School Host Club.

The absolutely first one for me was Saint Seiya, the original serie (something like 20+ years ago).

After that I didn't watch animes or cartoons, ever.

The first one after that period was, I think, Fate/Stay Night.. the serie that brought me back into the anime world.

8th Man. My parents got tired of the limited choices in televison, heard about this new-fangled thing called, "cable TV", and got us connected. It was amazing having more than 3 channels available to us. Even better that we had one of those brand-new "color" TVs. And when those new-fangled "TV remote controls" came down in price, we were going to get one of those, too!

(Why, yes: I did wade through hip-deep snow to school, uphill both ways, beating off the wolves with my school books. Why did you ask?)

Flipping through the wealth of channels - ~15, I think - I found "8th Man" on an afternoon kids' TV show and got hooked. But alas, my parents decided the cable TV experiment was too expensive so about 3/4 of the way through the series they canceled and I was left with our 3 local broadcast channels again.

...I have vague memories of some horrific 5:30AM show called, "The Daily Farm Report", in which a certifiable zombie rattled off the current market conditions and weather reports for the farmers returning from early morning chores. Yes, at 5:30 AM. You started your chores early on a farm. It wasn't anime' but it shows what I had to look forward to on local TV after my parents had the cable unplugged.

The first anime i ever saw was Sailor Moon when i was 4-5 yrs old. Don't get the wrong idea, my sister watched it and plus i didnt know what or what anime looks like

I honestly can't remember that far back but,
I know for sure I watched Cowboy Bebop and Trigun around the
same time and those plus WHR were what got me into anime.

Correction, I thought it was Kiki's Delivery Service but it might have been The Little Mermaid (Anderson ....something Japanese...). Those I both saw when I was VERY young and they were VHS. Both awesome movies, just love.
