I'm making this because the first episode had me hooked, so here's a forum for NTR. It came out on Crunchyroll today, and I assume it'll be airing on Wednesdays from here on out. I have not read the manga so far, but if there's anyone who has, please no manga spoilers.

Sadly, the episodes will be more like 10-minute shorts than anything else, and the yuri action starts the second you hit play. This is one of the things I was most excited for in Summer 2017, and I hope it lives up.
I SAID IT ONCE AND I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, PLEASE NO MANGA SPOILERS

I was surprised by how quickly they launched into things. It was like, press play and BAM we're already in the action. I have to imagine the time limit caused that, but still, it felt a little weird. I can't fault the creators for wanting to get a basic idea of the relationships in the first episode.

They did a good job of showing Hotaru's jealousy and how she's playing her game. It should be a fun watch. One episode one yuri kiss. That's a good pace, I'd say.

I'm hoping they don't rush it or run out of source material... I wonder if Hotaru and Fujiwara's relationship is sort of like Mugi and Hanabi from Kuzu no Honkai, and they're just using each other.

I didn't care much for the first episode. My hopes were a bit too high I suppose. It felt like edgy Sakura Trick, but obviously, nowhere near as enjoyable.

I enjoyed the second episode quite a bit more than the first. I didn't expect as much going in and it was enjoyable. The drama intensified a bit there with the aggressive boyfriend. The girls-only ferris wheel ride was a sweet moment.

Curse you ten minute time limit! Everything feels so rushed (not in the "had a small amount of time to create the series" kind of way, but in the "everything is moving so fast" kind of way) I just want time to chill out and see what's going on.

I swear, if they mess Citrus around like this it is full on confirmation that Japanese anime creators hate yuri.

Well then.
I just watched episode 2, and I was glad to see more on Takeda and Fujiwara, but WOW FUJIWARA IS A JERK.
When he kicked the wall near Hotaru, I was hoping the carriage thing would fall right out of the sky. Yuma would dramatically and romantically catch Hotaru, and Fuji would go SPLAT. And then get set on fire.
@Grey_106 let's hope they learn from this and enough people say "hey, give us some time to breathe, we don't enjoy moving 100mph EVERY SINGLE EPISODE"

Also, @KingYoshi 'edgy sakura trick' couldn't have said it better myself

It's like SonoHana animes (those 2 that are not a hentai). SonoHanas was funny and they haven't crossed the line. It was nice. NTR, on the other hands, is supposed to be "serious" but it's like some porn... with a rapist.
Kuttsukiboshi was much better with adult content. (even it's considered "fail" by many - but not me!)
ps. only 1st episode

They really seem to be doubling down on Hotaru's side in this story. Showing off how much she wants to be the only person in Yuma's life, but at the same time she's doing everything in her power to keep things the way they are.

It's also starting to get into Yuma's cowardice with the whole situation. She's clearly not as interested in Takeda romantically as she is with Hotaru. She clearly likes the guy, but it's more respect and friendliness, whereas she actually gets the doki-doki's when Hotaru is playing with her. Speaking of that by the way, that intro was super close to just being yuri hentai. Boob washing and everything.

Well, now Fujiwara knows, and if he tells Takeda about Hotaru and Yuma, basically everyone's screwed.

What I think is that, based on the last episode, and the end of this one, Fujiwara only feels lust for Hotaru(in my opinion). In turn, Hotaru feels her own lust growing, but Fujiwara doesn't satisfy it because, this is only my theory, that she's a lesbian. She saw Yuma as an easy target to mentally conquer, considering she still has her virginity and is scared of losing it, to Takeda or Hotaru(as seen in this episode), and they'd already been friends for a long time. By using the excuse that they were 'practicing', this let Hotaru satisfy her lust. This might be a cycle forming, but I'm not entirely sure since Yuma may be the one to put it to an end.

I really wish this was 24 minutes because I have way too many theories(not just this one) I need to know whether or not they're true.

Aaaand my last message still stands. This is the point where the time limit is starting to get annoying(they stopped at the best part!). Also, poor Yuma, getting rejected like that... I wanna give her a hug, not just for that, but because of her being used by Hotaru and all of the crap with Fujiwara.

Edit: nvm the time limit was always annoying, I want more yuri!!

I just can't bring myself to like this series. I am trying every episode, but this is just not a good series, imo. There have been maybe two enjoyable moments so far for me. They were both brief.

It's why I always advocate caution when going into this series, either the anime or the manga. The entire thing is coated in drama and it was intentionally written to be the way that it is because the author likes those kind of stories.

It's not perfect for yuri fans because it has so much het stuff floating around. Plus, just knowing that Fujiwara exists could make even Jorah Mormont's skin crawl.

I do curse the time limit cause I wanted to see if Takeda had any idea/suspicions about Hotaru and Yuma, but we'll have to wait for next week. In the meantime, I'll rewatch New Game!

Hey beautiful people!!
It's nice to see a thread about NTR <3 I am a TOTAL fan~! :D

It's a real shame about the now 9 minute episode thing. @_@ I cri...
I'd really like to find out why it is so, because they are cramming so much in those few minutes that I doubt they are going to make it any further than where the Manga has reached. 16 chapters MANGA, only 12 episodes ANIME (each episode features one manga chapter). I don't know how it will work out, but let's all hope for the best :)

I'm hoping things will get interesting soon~! Although it's a real shame that the rating has fallen so low as well. (Manga being in 7's and anime now being in 5's) ;;
I don't know how this is so, when it's the most well-known Yuri/Shoujo Ai out there... (except for Citrus)

I 100% recommend going straight to the Manga at this point in time if you can't wait a week for each episode :)

So far i only watched 3 ep, but i really enjoy this anime.
Before watching it i knew about the manga, but there are no physical copies in the book stores in France, even if i was interested in it i didn't look further.
When i saw the anime announcement i was pretty happy. And i never really saw any yuri with boys as main plot points (in my big collection of doujins the stories almost only contains female characters) and seeing how Hotaru doesn't likes her current relationship with Fujiwara (and the anime does a good job at making me hating this guy) so she turns to Yuma, and with their already existing friendship that moves to yuri goodness. And the way Hotaru teases constantly Yuma is so satisfying.
And the cliffhangers are almost worst than JoJo, my god!!

edit: after watching ep4, it just confirms more that Hotaru prefers Yuma instead of Fujiwara

I really don't have much to say, other than Fujiwara and Hotaru are both absolutely repulsive. I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not they could actually be arrested for assault/rape/other forms of abuse, depending on the country. AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD YUMA NEEDS A HUG(not from Hotaru, she'll just put her hand up her shirt). I feel like I can't even enjoy the show anymore because I always feel stressed about whether or not Yuma is going to fall apart(or me, on that note). I might read the manga just so I can see Yuma's emotional and psychological fate. Also, I hope Yuma finds someone who doesn't abandon her(*cough*Takeda*cough*) or stick her hand down her bra for seemingly no reason.

I dunno I'm just angry because Yuma's the only innocent one in this series, but is being used as a punching bag for all 3 of the other characters.

It's as anime so it might be legal, look at Kodomo no Jikan, lol.

Jokes aside, Fujiwara's blackmailing Yuma, it's a bit fucked up and i really hope what he plans to do with Yuma and Hotaru doesn't happens. And feels bad for Takeda too, he was nice, at least compared to Hotaru and Fujiwara.

FXCKING FUJIWARA I HOPE HOTARU/YUMA/TAKEDA/LITERALLY ANYONE KICKS YOUR ASS. AND THEN VERY RUDELY SNAPS A PIC OF IT LIKE YOU DID WITH YUMA/HOTARU

I know these are fake people but I (still) want to give Yuma a very real hug. That's really my only focus now, I don't even care about her and Takeda's relationship.

And out of curiosity, what would Yuma/Hotaru's ship name be?

Hatama sounds good,
And i think Hotaru is a masochist or something because she said that she like Fujiwara, for now that's my logical explantation. It felt so good when Yuma slapped Fujiwara right at the start of the episode.
And i guess Yuma and Takeda won't come back together, but Yuma seems to be fine with Hotaru for now.

Gah, this show just loves to cut things off as soon as things are getting good.

The flashback was good to see in this episode though, giving some context to Hotaru and Yuma's relationship. Both want to keep the other to themselves, but they're dealing with that feeling in different ways.

Hotaru's helping Takeda and Yuma to get together, yay. Takeda's getting some love, but even if he's nice, i feel like it's either Yuma x Takeda or Hotaru x Yuma. And Hotaru and Yuma aren't as close because of that, and the fact that Hotaru's not going to college with Yuma leaves an opportunity for Takeda.
And Hotaru in a cat maid costume seems good too.

*dramatic sigh*

I got my hands on the manga, and I have no idea where they'll decide to end the anime. It'll be interesting to see if they go for an original ending, or a cliffhanger with no confirmed season 2. But, Fujiwara still sucks, and at least Hotaru's giving Yuma some space...that's good, right?

*another dramatic sigh*

Okay what I want to know, is why does Takeda even care if Yuma is with Hotaru? They're technically broken up, and Fujiwara needs to mind his own business. Also wow, Yuma. YOU WERE THE ONE PERSON I WAS ROOTING FOR

Haven't watched any of this anime or read the manga, but I just skimmed through the comments here trying to decide whether I want to start it or not. I gathered that Yuma is innocent and is getting mentally/emotionally messed up, Hotaru is sexually aggressive (sorta like Mei in the early parts of Citrus?), and Fujiwara is a total scumbag. Knowing this, I was able to correctly identify the characters in the promo art because boys with white hair are evil, the dark-haired girl in the yuri ship is always the dominant/morally questionable one, and pink hair=goodness. Also, I dislike the character designs from the promo art because the boys are both tall and the girls are both tiny, immediately establishing that the boys are the ones in control in their respective relationships.

I'm really conflicted about whether or not I want to give this anime a shot. On one hand, I love yuri, and there are hardly any anime out there with a strong focus on a girl/girl relationship which is explicitly shown to be romantic. On the other hand, this anime honestly seems like syrupy soap opera garbage. I know that most dramatic romance stories don't seem very good from the outside looking in—and if I actually started watching the anime, I might get really wrapped up in it all—but I'm just not sure if I'd be able to get past all of the issues that I expect I'd have with it. I have mixed/somewhat negative feelings about Strawberry Panic because of how much that anime turned into a soap opera towards the end with its excessively tragic/clichéd plot twists.

With all of that in mind, would anybody still recommend me to try this anime?

Syrupy soap opera garbage is one of the most fitting descriptions of this show, because that's almost word for word what the author uses to describe it herself. Understanding that I'm using garbage like someone would use "trashy" to describe a show, they're not saying the show is worthless, it's one of those things where you're not required to use your brain to follow along with all the twists and turns.

The only thing you really got wrong was that because he was taller, Takeda would be in control of the relationship. He's the complete opposite to Fujiwara in some ways, you might describe them as "alpha" and "beta" kinds of guys. Fujiwara is cold, confident and can get girls easy. Takeda worries about stuff too much and has trouble voicing his feelings etc. Takeda and Yuma are kind of on even footing with their relationship because it's new to both of them.

If you're not sure about the show, it's not much of an investment to check it out. Taking the OP and ED into consideration, the episodes are only about seven-ish minutes long so it's not gonna take too much of your time.

aaaaaAAAHHHH NOT AGAIN SORRY

Fujiwara needs to stfu and mind his own damn business. Also, if Citrus is this soap-opera-trash-y, I will lose all my faith in Yuri adaptions(other than slice-of-life). It was nice to see more Fujiwara and Takeda together though.

We also appear to have EVEN MORE LOOSE ENDS. Greattttt

Takeda's such a nice guy. I hope Yuma becomes his gay best friend and she wingman's him a keeper.

I'm just glad Yuma's realising what her feelings actually are. Regardless of whether she can do anything with them or whether Hotaru will do anything with them, at least Yuma knows where she stands.

I can't argue with the show going for a good ending rather than leaving things open and filled with potential drama.

This way it seems like Takeda is a supportive friend who wants the best for Yuma regardless of his feelings and that Hotaru was just a scared little girl who wanted assurance before she let herself fall in love with her friend. Fujiwara is still a dick, but who cares.

Plus, it doesn't end het, which is always a plus.
