| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- This was great! I love how they used the speech bubbles, it really felt like an animated manga. And the speech bubbles turning into the fruits on the tree was a cool way to show it. The way the crabs always ran sideways, even though they had human bodies, was hilarious. The dad even climbed the ladder sideways haha. |

| That character design... :D But somehow it seems right to me. It suits the old fairy tale amosphere imo. |

| Wow you can really feel the ten years that passed between this and Junichi times, both in quality and story-telling and plot, after all it's a revenge story, and anime will use this trope til exhaustion during the decades. Funnily enough this also respond to the people that ask "why manga about ninja like Naruto have all these weird magical powers it makes 0 sense", it actually does if you consider japanese folklore, and this short film proves it. The facial expressions of the mc father's friends were astonishing for the time, also the use of balloons was brilliant. Once again i can't comprehend people taking the time to watch such an old work and rating it so low |

| Surprisingly decent. The characters acted strangely at times, and I have no idea how the crab father died from being hit with a soft fruit. On the other hand, the story flows very well, and it's somewhat funny, with the detail afforded to the quirks of each animal/object person. |
